Over due introduction

After 50 posts, I guess I'll do what I should have done at the start.
There goes my career as manager in charge of protocol.

I've worked in the automotive/powersports industries all my adult life. Was a motorcycle technician in the 70's, raced AFM in CA then and once worked at AMOL Precision in Dumont, NJ if anyone remembers that BMW shop. Worked for American Honda Motorcycle Division during the 80's, Saturn and Nissan in the 90's and Hyundai Motor America for the last 9 years until I was laid off in February due to the current economic issues affecting the car business.
Bought my R12S from Max in Hampton, NH last year when I realized BMW was pulling the plug in the model in the US. Up until then, I was waiting for 08's. I was lucky to find one at that point.
The bike has Ohlins, ABS, heated grips, BST carbon wheels, SS Akrapovic, Techlusion TFI, tinted BMW windscreen, NGK Iridiums, K&N and Bridgestone BT-002's. Here a shot of the bike and a couple of my shop.

Thanks for all the good info I've already received from the forum.SmileWavy

Welcome. SmileWavy

As he says, we going for scoot this Sunday.
Unfortunately, the Wossner piston and rod setup is not in the budget these days.
But what were the chances there were 2 dudes with an R12S & BST's in the same state, 1 county apart. Small world.:)

Maybe next time & thanks.

Required for bench racing bull sessions over a glass of cabernet or a Yuengling Light and fine cigar.

I don't see any Cabernet on the table but these are the types of bench racers I'm used to...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1242324263.jpg

Hey Cageyar, what did you do for Hyundai Motor America? I have been working for Toyota Motor Sales (North American part of Toyota Motor Cars) for 19 years now. So far, so good, but you NEVER know with conditions as they are in the car business. So far in 2009 we have lost over 4 billion dollars in the first quarter alone! OUCH!

As mentioned already, sweet ride, sweet shop.

I was the Eastern Region Customer Satisfaction Development Manager. Basically functioned as an in-dealership process consultant to increase revenue & CSI. I'm checking the Toyota listings every day, but nothing in Jersey. Not the best time to be out. More time to ride, though.:D

That ball of fire that says, "Roadracing-it don't come easy" is Mark Brelsford on the Harley at Daytona in 1973. He won the AMA National Championship the year before and Daytona was his 1st big race with the #1 plate.
A privateer, Larry Darr, had his bike quit on the outside of the chicane and like a dope, he tried to push his bike across the track to get to the inside. Brelsford comes honking around and clips Darr and his bike. The bike exploded, which confirmed rumors that HD was using exotic fuels trying to squeeze a few more horse out of those old iron slugs.
Brelsford got a little mangled, particularly one of his hands. Came back the next year but was never the same rider. Became a forest ranger in Alaska. Darr lost a big chunk out of one leg.
Kind of a classic, vintage poster. I've got other cool, old ones in the attic. I've got to get them up.
