I remember getting stuck in traffic about 10 miles from my house in my 330i last summer, 110 deg. outside and I really wanted to keep the a/c on. The range on my computer said I had 16 miles to go. Within four miles of my house, it said I had one mile to go. It went to zero miles about a mile from the gas station by my house and I made it. I haven't gotten down that far on this bike, so I really don't know how accurate the computer is. I think I've been at just under 200 miles when filling up, but can't remember how much it took. I know I've never gotten anything close to 60 mpg on this bike. I was overjoyed to get 50 mpg on my GS.

I don't believe your bike is as radically lean as you might suspect. The Remus system, being more free breathing than stock and no cat gives you a leaner condition than stock. If it was dangerously lean, it wouldn't run as well as it does. Whatever module you choose will just make it run noticeably better by alleviating the lean condition exacerbated by the Remus in an already lean running bike. |
Ok, just got my FRK, installed it in about 15 min. and went for a very short test ride. I only had time to do about two miles around the neighborhood. It's 105 deg. now and I didn't feel like suiting up, which I will do tomorrow before it gets really hot.
1) Why oh why could they not make the wires 2" longer? There is just no need for this to become a contortionist act. But more importantly, I'm a little worried that the wires are stretched in the position I had to plug it into and I can't sleep at night with stretched wires. 2) My bike still has a tiny bit of backfirinig on decel, but not nearly as much as before. 3) Idle is a tad less lumpy than before. 4) Throttle response feels improved and smoother, though I didn't think I had any flat spots before. 5) Smells a little richer. 6) I know the seat of the pants HP increase feel is what you're all waiting for. Yes, I felt some. But as I was only wearing shorts and sneakers, sans helmet, I did not push it. Tomorrow I'll suit up and give her a good workout and report back. BTW, I'd rather they just increase the price by $20 and call it free shipping than charge $20 for shipping UPS Ground what would have cost $5 with the post office and gotten here much faster. Seven days and $20 is a little insulting. |
In addition, IMO, try losing the Bosch plugs if you are still using them.
I feel I get better starting and idle with NGK Iridiums and I have no basis to prove it, but if they work better at startup and idle, they can't hurt elsewhere. |
Haven't pulled the plugs yet to see what I have. I'm sure they're original from the factory. Is that Bosch, Beru or NGK (with a BMW stamp on them)? I have 9500 miles and figure I'll do plugs and FD fluid at 12k miles. I had worn plugs cause some issues in my GS.
