Awww... now you've gone and done it... if that includes ABS then it's too good to be true... (fumbles for wallet)

I'm secretly hoping that's the base base base price and my version would be well over $20,000. It's my only excuse for not chasing one down for a test drive.

Cheers,
Ian

Probably base price.

Can't wait to see the 1000s go to a head to head test.

Hmmmph... longer than that if you keep hitting "pause" to read the pavement art.

You can never really tell from an on-board video... but that motor sounds very nice and non-whiny to me.

Thanks for the link! That was fun!

With all of this talk about being too old to ride, I just officially ordered a fully equipped S1000RR from San Jose BMW, I have several hours to decide on the color.

Any color suggestions, it is between green and the Motosport colors.

My 67 year old birthday present.

So there..........

the green is VERY cool, I actually love it, but it may be a bit on the trendy side. the corporate colors are nice but a little over the top for me. I would go for black and silver, which is very understated but ultra classy.

Looks like most of the pre orders are the motosport colors and I did not get a chance to see the green in person at Miller, so I decided on the black or "Thunder Gray Metallic" in BMW-speak.

I am going to keep it parked next to my R1200 CLC just for grins. I am going to keep my fantastic R1200ST for sport touring, BTW it was the first one sold in the USA.

No mention of the price here, at least not formal.

How much was the R12S is Canada? Might help me guesstimate the Oz price.

So, you're getting the Fall Sensor? Wise choice. But the list of options will cost as much as the bike's base price: it includes a fortune in carbon fiber. The exhaust alone is close to five grand. Dean, you been shootin' craps with the local Show Low banditos?

Most of those "options" are actually "accessories". The options are upshift assist, abs, abs with dynamic traction control, alarm. Everything else is more of an "add-on"

5K for the exhaust system. It better be made out of thin wall titanium to NASA specs and add 100Hp for that kind of money. Are you serious?

You are absolutely correct Otter re the "accessories", I am getting all options with the exception of the alarm.

I recieved BMW's confirming of my order this morning.

Already making plans to run it at Bonneville next year at the Bub meet with Chris and the San Jose's yearly treck to set even more of their Bonneville records.
