Warnig triangle light.....

Red triangle warning light came on the over day on my 2003 BCR. All the manual says is there is a problem which if left unresolved could affect the bike........?

Has oil, has brake fluid, ABS works, runs fine.

Any suggestions of what the little red triangle could be ?

Actually... a friend of mine spends his winters there... maybe you'll meet him Kitesurfing some day... Armin Loose... German guy.... lives 1/2 year on GC and the other half in Germany... Sylt.

I kitesurf... fun sport, better here in San Diego, as there is never enough wind for windsurfing... but, have been out of it for a while because of a couple of knee surgeries... hope to be back at it by winter time!

If it's not a bad brake light bulb, it's often a precursor of battery failure. It seems to happen when the battery is in the in between stage of not holding the steady charge of a strong battery but stilll has enough charge to keep the battery light off. If you keep the battery tender hooked up between rides, it should cure it for a while.

I had this very same issue but only until the bike warmed up. It was intermittent at first and the manual indicated that it meant a failure of the brake/tail light. A quick walk around confirmed that both elements of the bulb were actually working.

When I was in having the brake fluid flushed, I had them interrogate for codes from this warning light. They said it was showing a voltage drop and that I should put the battery on a tender.

Here is the thing, I always plug the bike in when parked in the garage, so with the battery being 6 years old, I figured perhaps it was on the way out. I didn't want to get any ABS faults, so I replaced the battery. I still had this issue every morning.

So I thought about it and figured, could this thing be smart enough to be telling me that although the bulb hasn't actually failed yet, failure was just around the corner?

So I replaced the 5 dollar bulb and voila, the problem went away!

there's a built in safety feature with the tail light bulb. if one filament burns out, the other filament does double duty as brake light and tail light. when you check to see that both are working, they will, but I guarantee one filament is out on the bulb itself.

other things to check are battery, and that the ABS unit itself is full, not just the reserviors.

If it is the bulb, do not handle the new bulb with bare hands or the the oils on your fingers will make short life of the bulb or the brake light part anyway.

Without some sort of resister or load equalizer associated with the LED array, I would guess yes it would. An LED uses much less power than a regular bulb which may make the computer think it is a blown bulb.

I just put my hand back to the tail light and apply brake, no brake light, filament is out. I can easily see my tail light is still working, but there is no double duty on my 2004 as you stated.

Yeah, that never happened on my 2002 when my brake filament burnt out. Changed the bulb and all was well.
