Rapid Bike shifter switch

What is that? I was under the impression this was not doable on the 1100. Do tell.

Rapid Bike shifter switch Yes it will work on a R1100, But you need to have the Rapidbike box for it to work!!!

Unfortunately they are only listing the R1100S for 1998-2003. Also a bit pricey. Looks like a nice unit though.

IMHO, it's a pointless gizmo (tested for 1 week in my R12S long time ago - thanks but no thanks).

+1 especially for an R11. its a track tool in the same category as the slipper clutch. great for the track, irrelevant for the street.

Well, unless you have a disability that prevents you from making a clean and spontaneous shift at any given time. I speak from experience

So it would be different if it was installed in a R12S

perhaps, if your R12 was just a track bike, or you did the majority of your riding on the track.

let's face it, you can ride a honda cub on the track, but that doesn't make it a track bike. The R11 is a sport tourer, and a power shifter on it is like putting XTR cranks on a Murray mountain bike you bought at WalMart.

Really I seem to remember BMW running a series called BOXERCUP Races ! I didn't think at the time they were racing sport tourers

not that I am interested in getting into any pissing contest, but don't you think that was kind of a press/publicity/marketing tactic? if I had to guess I would say that the BCR series was initiated to convince the motorcycle buying public that BMW had racing heritage and made racing bikes (hey it worked on me, i thought the BCR was a race bike until I owned one) it was also a good segue into WSBK and the SKRR. but the BCR a race bike? not hardly, like i said before its a sheep in wolf's clothing

Ture Shreddr it isn't a race bike but your R1200S isn't either
