Too Funny....
"The Boxer Cup Replika Series had variable color schemes for each of the three years these bikes were produced. This is the only one with red accents that I have ever found."
No doubt.... |

Seriously cheapens the bike.

Forged magnesium wheels?
Where's that 11 pound difference come from between stock and PVMs?

"Rare, collectible" - Uh-huh
"Variable color schemes for each of the three years these bikes were produced" - really? I count two factory color schemes. "No ABS was available in 2004" - Bull**** "Sportbike ergonomics, but rearsets are not too high or too far back" - For the passenger maybe. "Rear shock has adjustable preload and tension" - adjustable tension....what??? "Magnesium valve covers, with painted carbon fiber valve covers"...well are they magnesium or carbon fibre??? "Bike's colors are perfect for entry into a 4th of July parade"...good selling point. "Top speed ~ 135 MPH" "Top speed ~ 142 MPH" |

Except for the part about "painted", this is correct, the BCR valve covers have two main parts: the magnesium valve cover and the carbon fiber valve cover cover. So, if you're upgrading and find a pair of the CF covers, you're only halfway there.

I have to disagree (I own one) about his description being correct. The valve covers are magnesium. The valve cover guards are carbon fiber. I was commenting on the fact that he was describing both parts as valve covers...as did you.

"This bike draws attention"
Not the kind you really want though... "The 5 year or 18,700 mile Emissions Related Defect Warranty is still in effect" Well now I really want it! |

"Carbon cover, valve cover, left, REPLIKA, Part Number 11127680433" "Carbon cover, valve cover, right, REPLIKA, Part Number 11127680434" So, my description of "carbon fiber valve cover cover" was nearly identical to the parts manual

No try, do or not do

I guess the good thing is that the ugly paint job is easily reversible. Getting the turn signal pods on the BCR painted blue to match the rest of the paint scheme really looks good, and repainting the valve cover, covers silver or black or or getting new CF covers is easy. If you want a BCR, go for it.

this is too much fun.
Vibration through the bars is minimal at high speed. um....okay, so where does that leave the bars at anything below high speed? Typical BMW slight pull to the side under heavy acceleration, due to Boxer opposed twin motor and shaft drive. anybody here EVER had their bike pull to the side while on the gas? anyone? don't be shy...anyone at all? and how did this guy get a twin motor? i only got one motor. contacting my dealer right now for hefty refund... Single swing arm. Not sure if this is to a reference to a bachelor swingarm, or an "unmarried gentleman". I asked my BCR about it's swingarm and it claims it's never been married. Most motorcycle swingarms are "single", meaning, at most, only one on each end. some of the nicer swingarms are even single-sided, like the BCR. forged magnesium wheels does this mean they're fake? who forged them? do the real mag wheels know about this? This is the only one with red accents that I have ever found. this is a good thing. a very good thing. Fairing and tail are painted white and blue, that's not white paint. it's a sticker. roomy cockpit. so you're saying that the pilot has turned off the seat belt sign and you are now free to... Never raced on a track, (however i flogged the be-jezzus out of it behind the grocery store on "burn out thursdays" with the guys. never abused (no wheelies), oh please... Always garaged. then when the hell did you ever ride it? either it's a whopping big garage, or.... New Battery. that would explain the above. I can ride this bike all day without any cramps mydol? Unknown what a Power Commander would do to performance with a re-mapping of the fuel settings along the same theme, it's pretty much unknown what it would do to performance if i strapped a jet engine on my bike. All BMW parts carry a lifetime warranty. i will sleep SO much better tonight, knowing i never have to buy a replacement tire again.

WHERE DO I SIGN UP!!! By the time I get rid of the BCR, I will probably have spent more on tires, than I paid for the bike new

Not to kick a dead horse, but the red "accents" are not stock from the factory. Looks like when I was about ten-years-old and used to paint my brother's GI-Joe and Evel Knievel accessories with a paint brush and charge him for it.

Since it is 2054 miles from Vermont to Austin, Tx...that only leaves about 1500 miles of riding around that huge garage that Brad was alluding to...not bad really.

i had a huge garage at one time (1800+ sq. ft, kitchenette, toilet/shower, futon, etc) and about the only thing that was fun to ride around in that beast was 125cc yamaha shifter carts, after we'd hose down the concrete to get it nice and slippery. (50 to 1 ratio of water + Dawn, plus a couple mouthfulls of glycerin, splash of bleach, mix, spread evenly to a clear shine).
there's nothing like the smell of full-on two-stroke race fuell and smoking tires.... we'd leave the garage doors down for a while just to suck it up. (that might explain some of the questions about me that some of you ponder...). i'll always miss that garage. i'll never miss the strings it came attached to... has anyone heard what the bottom line was? the suspense is killing me: lost....or broken? which is it? if it were lost, given those exceptionally rare red highlights, one would assume that the odds of spotting it would be better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. then again maybe someone stole it and dragged it out into the woods to bury it. ....just sayin'....
