R1100S - replacement model

Two Questions:

What took over the R1100S's place in BMW lineup?
When did production of the R1100S stop?

Great question - I was poking around on BMW Motorad last evening and it looks like BMW has no idea WTF end is up.

1- Urban model R1200R

1- Sports model K1300S

Yes, they are still showing images of the R1200S but you cannot buy a new one as it has been discontinued.

Hi-Performance - HP2S and Megamoto - I am sure the HP2S is phenominal but I am not willing to spend that kind of cash on a weekend play toy. If I were going to drop that much I would go with the MV Agusta or a Ducati.

I think the low price S1000RR is going to steal a bunch of sales form the Japs, but I really don't want to ride around on an uncomfortable crotch rocket. If that was what I wanted I would own one instead of an R1100S.

Namesake-wise, I'd say the R1200S. Functionally, I'd say it was more the R1200ST.

Looks like BMW is only supporting the boxer technology in either a cruiser or high performance sport bike. I don't see anything in between.
