I regret the inform on the passing of Mr. Mike Traynor,

co-founder of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation's Ride for Kids.

I met Mike when I had the good fortune to ride in the "Blue Ridge 500" a couple of times and raise money for PBT 3 years in a row.

I remember thinking how selfless and passionate he was and he had that spirit that made you want to be around him and listen to his stories. I will miss him:(

I sure hope they have motorcycles in heaven....

From an email I received earlier;

"I just got a phone call at work from Pat Seacort. She works at the Brain Tumor Foundation. She wanted to give me the arrangements for Mike's funeral and viewing.

Viewing:

5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday evening

HM Patterson Arlington Chapel
173 Allen Road
Sandy Springs, GA

Funeral Service:

11:00 AM
Mt Vernon Baptist Church
850 Mt Vernon Hwy NW
Sandy Springs, GA

They ask that if you will be attending on your motorcycle to the service that you let them know as they will need to provide space for the amount of bikes that will be there. Contact them at the tumor foundation with that information. I am deeply saddened by Mike's passing as well as Mac. We met each other through the organization and have been blessed each day since then to have had the opportunity to have Mike as our friend.

Please see post: http://bmwmoga.info/forum/showthread.php?t=1793 They are requesting people to sign in if they plan to ride to the funeral services so they can make appropriate accommodations.

mike was one of those rare people who actually made a difference.

if you pointed him towards those that could help his cause and he was able to get them on the phone or do a face-to-face...he got their support...and then some.

the man's enthusiasm was contagious.
one of the truly good guys.

i'm sad he's gone, but glad he was here.

I met him on the street in Blowing Rock a few years ago. A true gentleman and helpful spirit. Sorry to hear of his death.
