Mother of bellypans

Well...

Good news: that Man in black (Julius) delivered the goods > the ultimate Thing is here...

http://www.ilmberger-carbon.de/html/r1200s.html

Bad news: new redesigned HPE headers are required. Yikes. The only thing missing is someone willing to pay (in Euros !!) for my brand new - er...I mean "old"/passe - SS HPE headers (a "bit" blue by now, but no pain no gain)

Any good christian out there? Call me day/night...

I noticed these on the site the other night.

I don't have any aftermarket headers so I thought - hmmn HPE headers with no CAT and the pan but - I was too scared to ask how much?

Gotta be at least 2k AUS prolly more...

Well

My headers are : BM.11A.002 Manifold Street with Kat (ECE) - no Titan > meaning > Oops ..749,90 Euros (VAT is included).

I could polish the "passe" headers of mine and put them in a nice (pink) giant cardboard box...and...

I don't tell you the price for the wonder combo (new headers + that stunning thing) in order to prevent ....some cultural shock

1. Street cred (if you care about it)

2. Cool color (that distinctive "blue/magenta" thing)

My suggestion: avoid Ti and save the cash.

Hey Kieran,

I really like this Illmberger pan and the HPE headers.

Thing is I will finally want to end up with both a belly pan and some catless headers that look the biz.

Does your pan fit different headers?

I don't like the rounded original pipes - they look naff!

Why are you looking to sell the pan?

Same goes for shreddr?

You guys wanting some headers that don't fit your pans?

I smell a rat

Er...Indeed (but the good news are that you can save a Euro -or two- if you order the cat less SS "racing" headers - provided that you can breathe aromatic hydrocarbons, no big deal > they just are "a bit" carcinogenic).

PS: Exact prices > as soon as Julius can answer my e-mail (God help us)

VEK.013.R120S.K (cat)
VEK.014.R120S.K (for real men)

Moral: I need a working "hit the bank" plan (version D - beta)

The only problem with that pan, besides the price is that it calls out for an extension of the upper fairing, just like the HP2S has. Look at the pics of it on the bike and you will see what I mean. There needs to be another part the connects to the upperfairing to improve the lines, otherwise it looks like a bolt on.

Indeed (but even so ...looks 10 times better than the other Julius made thing - not my cup of tea by any means)

With regard the total solution (a TOTAL body panel re-design) > soon...(I do hope).

Targets:

1. NOSE HEAVY (obviously) multi piece stuff (Monday the naked version, Tuesday the version1,..., Sunday the "racing" thing). Dzus fasteners and the likes. Bike needs urgently "something" in the green ellipsis area...

2. easy cleaning (remove it in 1 minute),

3. in case of a fall (*** happens) you'll replace only the damaged part,

4. a total tail unit redesign (UGLY + 60's aesthetics).

5. Peter's solid piece of aluminum...er..for an oil cooler (not where the old is).

6. Er...some total air intake approach anyone?

He He

Hmmm

That could be true ...but this is not my design. it's just 3d modeling the existed situation I'm afraid. Actually it's even before the true/final stage (via laser scan).

Chewie, the new headers that match the HPE exhuast run under the motor and the belly pan I have wont accommadate them. There are other headers that will and work with the origanal Ilmberger pan it's just that I'm only interested in the HPE headers. There is nothing wrong with my pan. It cost $1,500 delivered and posible the only one in OZ. PM me and we can take it from there if you want!

Im talking about the extension off the HP2S upper body panel, where the head pipe goes through the upper and lower fairings. this is not on the R12S, and it gives that full fairing line. Look at these pics and you will see what i mean.

and now the new ilmberger
