broken front frame
 

Has anyone broken the front frame lug that you bolt the fairing bracket to? Is there a fix for this problem? Bike is a 1999 r1100s.

I had a broken one.

Although I've heard welding has been done successfully, I went to three welders who said they couldn't weld it...

Broke one with the deer strike. Searched Ebay, then got one from a fellow Pelican! I found a welder to fix my lower rear subframe tabs. He did a spectacular job and would have been able to weld the part instead of my buying a replacement. He's a good friend and did the work for dinner. Wish I knew of his mad skills earlier. A good welder would be able to build up the aluminum, grind the sides flat, and redrill a hole. That's how we fixed the frame tabs.
