OT/OnT: Fast CGI Error
Does anyone else get this error? I only get it with Pelican. Got it again last night, then could read Pelican with my cell phone, but not the computer. I've got about 3 times prior. If it's my motherboard that's fine, I need a better computer for photography anyway and it's an excuse.. Or is it my Internet hosting service (Frontier)
If it's Pelican, it should probably be forwarded to Wayne (who probably is aware of it already). Fast CGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request. I have never seen that on any of the two 4 OSs, 3 desktops, 3 laptops, 3 browsesrs, plus cell phone, I regularly use.

a cgi (common gateway interface) error is a server-script-processing error on the server side....
typically from a unix\apache box.....CGI is not used too much by IIS |
i got it this morning for the first time

might be occurring on the actual server box itself.
0x80004005 pops up when a registry system catches the eye of certain system files that are missing or broken, lost or confused. sometimes these orphans are antivirus software, or windows software authentication keys. they're like the freshmen caught in the hallway after the bell rang because they don't know where they're supposed to go. 0x80004005 also crops up when new programs are installed over old ones and the old ones are not completely uninstalled 100%, causing registry pile ups and error messages. damn orphans again. 0x80004005 is officially an "undetermined error" and can be used to put 100% of the blame on everything from missing web pages to the price of milk in nebraska. 0x80004005 means "something happened, but the computer hasn't a clue as to what it is, what it just did or how to stop it." -2147467259 is a run time error. it usually pops up when a user request on a page tries to run a stored procedure, like opening a database to read and paint the requested page. might be an opportunity for the server's housekeeping staff to do a little dusting/sprucing up in time for the holidays... |
i heard that the new HP2S forum has thrown the entire PP site into a tailspin :D

I just got that error three times in a row on this thread. Pretty cool.

it's consistency that's most important.
