Screwed on e-bay BEWARE

Will post this on all the forums I visit. I purchased a headlight for the 999S. Seller mvgirl on ebay stated it was from a bike with 200 miles. When I got it the lens looked like it was sand blasted, was missing screws, finger print on the inside reflector and dirty. Well that had to be a hell of a 200 miles dont you think. When I brought this to her attention she went on about her personal life and refused to take it back. So beware. I think she has other seller names as well. Be sure you check it out.

I'm sure you've already filed a complaint. If you paid by PayPal file a claim there too. Good luck.

been there ... got the T-shirt

i've been sandbagged by ebay vendors too. and paypal has also stuck i too me with their unreasoanble short claim period, i now only do business with vendor who take visa directly, or with people on forums i've been on for a while. sad to say integrity is not what it used to be.

I've only had one ebay transaction go bad.
Paypal, for whatever reason, covered part, but not all of it (I suspect whatever the seller had left in his paypal account) My credit card took care of the rest of it, and ebay chucked the seller. Worked out pretty well in the end. Good luck.

Yeah... over 1000 transaction in 11 years and only 2 bad ones... one each being the seller/buyer.

Had worse luck in stores...

True, all in all I have had good luck as well. Just really bums you out when it happens. I guess I just expect people to do the right thing. Hey I purchased my 05 R1100S BCP on e-bay. Wow was that a heart pounder bid. It was as described. I once sold a collector item and described it as mint condition. The buyer did not agree. I offered to take it back or offer a discount. He took the discount and all were happy. Just do the right thing. Long haul better philosophy. I try to apply that to all I do in life.

i bought my BCR and R12S on eBay, sight unseen and far away. the best thing to do is either deal with sellers who have a lot of sales and good feedback, or use PayPal so you can get your money back in a bad transaction.

One gone bad for me.
I'll take the brunt of fault for buying a wear product like rotors.
Slightly used, no blemishes no warps means it was used as a frisbee in an open pit mine.

I've had a number of dealings with people through Ebay & other furums, both locally & abroad as a seller & buyer. All of my transactions have been for bike related items & I've never had a problem. I work to the ethos that if a person owns a bike they can't be all bad. I suppose that one day it might come back to bite me on the backside.
