R1200S Silver Rim Color

Due to my old age preferences I have never warmed to the blacked out Goth look seen on many vehicles these days. A girlfriend has a completely blacked out M3 including flat black wheels. All factory and straight from BMW. She is cute but the car is hideous. All my cars, mountain bikes and motorcycles have silver colored wheels or rims. I'm an architect and very old school, what can I say? I have seen a candy came R12S with the factory silver rims and prefer that look over the black ones as it seems to tie the bike together into a visual whole and not as disjointed. Same for the yellow bikes. Does any one know what color is used for the silver rims? I'm trying to decide on repainting them or soda blast and clear coat. This will be a project for next winter as I don't want to lose riding time now. No offense to the black wheel lovers as I know I am in a tiny minority.

I have a better idea. How about I trade you my ugly silver wheels for your ugly black wheels. Our tastes may differ but our goals are the same . I just got new tires I that can hold off mounting.

You are better off trading with someone.

The candy cane and yellow bikes came with factory black wheels.
The black and the silver bikes came with the silver wheels.
