Yes, well when your friends no longer refer to your house as your home and call it the "Museum" you know its time to start cataloging and thinking of yourself as a curator.

I'm impressed with the amazing guitars, fiddles and pianos on this thread. I've been learning flat-picking lately. Can you imagine the jam session if we all got together? Here is my 1971 Martin D-28

MaineRoads, don't buy any guitar without playing it first! If you're not confident, take an experienced friend. A second hand 'name' guitar isn't guaranteed to be good. It may have been abused, be warped, have any number of issues that may cost a lot to fix - it may never have played nice 'out of the box'. Even some 'name' guitars just don't work from new. Play the guitar, listen to its tone, its feel, its playability. Is it in tune all the way up and down the fret board? Do the harmonics ring true and sweet? Does it feel nice in your hands? There are some great 'cheap' guitars out there. Again, some nice instruments posted here.... |

Yea, I figured as much. I gave mine to my oldest son once I knew he would appreciate it. He was way better than I ever was. Besides the chops were gone.
Her is my new French girl friend. She is a little older than me and as you can see she already has a new bow. No amp needed just need to be amped up. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1292082593.jpg |
It's not the big bore Bach.

That reminds me... I need to send you a fathers day card this year... :) |
........just bought it......Epiphone Les Paul Standard plain top Honeyburst.
Very small price for a surprising good quality, finish and sound. I play it along with a Roland Cube 30X....... just for practising at home ......after a 24-year recess. Back in my youth I played an Ibanez stratocaster clone (just for fun) and a Fisher Trombone (good enough for a bigband and even a small tv appearance). Being away from music for 24 years gives me a hard time now. Have to learn everything new. But it's still fun and I'm glad I had the guts to start it.
