RB Racing clutches

Well friends

1. BMW Clutch Technology

2. Send them a mail:

Hi there,

I live in Greece and I ride a BMW R1200S '07. My nerves are broken with the crappy clutch in my bike. I saw your Beemer related catalog ( I'm interested for RSR Street 360 Kevlar Sprung and/or RSR Turbo Cera-Metallic 6 Paw Sprung) but my poor old bike is not listed.

Is there any hope for me? In case that there is ...er...can you ship the hot stuff in Greece?

Best, Peter

3. Their answer:

Yes. Air Parcel post. About $45.00

No dealers.

RB Racing

If anyone can understand, please notify me (maybe they don't like Greeks and/or Architects and/or both).

Hmm

Maybe that "yes" includes (a) there's stuff for me (b) I can have it in Greece.

I'll put this on ice...for more than obvious reasons.

Such a Pity

Peter, the 12RT clutch is the same as the 12S in the BMW fiche so it looks like they have the plate for you and can ship for 45 bucks
Give them a call and talk to the Guy.If it comes to the crunch I could go down there and check them out....when my leg heals

Well, I know that (R1200S CLUTCH PLATE - BMW OEM - Part Number 21217697737 = It's the same for R1200GS-RS-RT)...but

...these fellas offer different clutch variants for R bikes that share the same OEM stuff. That creates a certain confusion, not to mention that their answer is the definition of "unpolished communication", he he (and that R1200RS model listed DOES not exist).

I would be extremely glad if you could verify this "on-site". When you'll visit Greece for some hot vacations (Mykonos/Corfu by night, hot chicks et all) I could pay my debt, he he.

UPDATE 11 June 2010:

After N unanswered mails (and whilst my friction plate makes the usual Motorrad patented sounds), cousin Pete (rides a F series in States) did the delicate negotiations for me:

I just spoke with the lady from RB Racing on the phone (the genius's wife I presume), and she said that none of the BMW clutches have been released for sale yet (pending further testing and engineering). She advised me to "call back in a month or two" when "He" will have further information available as to a possible release date.

As for my guess on why they haven't replied to your emails: The woman on the phone sounded like she was around 65-70 years old and their website does not look like they are too computer literate... although it is evident that he is a genius at racing engineering!

If I can find you anything else in the meantime, let me know.

-Pete

So, I have 3 options:

Either blow 1000E for this (no details about how it works):

Either spend 300E for that (in some undefined moment in Space Time continuum):

Or get the crappy OEM/Lucas (>> Clutch lining for BMW R1200S & HP2 Sport | BMW Motorcycle Accessory Hornig) thing that could fail (female spline) in just one hot run (or extra hot to be exact, he he).

Moral: Life is cruel.
