Well I may bring it to Triple M just because!
At least I won't be calling you early in the morning asking dumb Jeep questions anymore.

There were some main seal failures with that oil but it was due to the abrasive qualities of the graphite additive. Old issues morph into today's legends. .............

Agree, wives tale. In addition the early synthetic, even Mobile 1, I believe was a 5w-20. Most cars seeped oil back in the 70's and the thin oil had a tendency to seep even more, so it appeared it caused leaks.

Additionally the materials that they used for seals many, many moons ago could be subject to softening by the synthetics, but in the last 40 -60 years Nitrile, silicone and Viton have replaced the butyl materials.

I know what you mean. The Buell might have to go as my new Jeep wasn't on the radar (other than a tiny blip) when I bought it.

Bob, you are looking at this all wrong, didn't you just double your garage space? A jeep and an R in the mountains, and your daily driver and the rest of your fleet at the house.

Did you ever sell your machineing equipment?

Looking at this all wrong? At least I'm consistent.

Nope...still have the machinery. What I'm thinking is that I should keep the R12S in the mountains with the Jeep. K-bike here in WR to transport me up there and enough extra funds to have a steak sometimes. I'm just getting the feeling that "stuff" has become too important in my life and so I need to downsize as much as an anal retentive with anger issues can.

I stopped by a man living in his car last night and gave him a $50 gift certificate to Food Lion. Never resist the urge to do something kind. Now that's stuff that can truly please.
