You might consider a Lindemann engineering rebuild/revalve instead, most of the benefit (supposedly) for less cost... Do a search on Lindemann here for more info, the search tool works well.

Ohlins used to be available in North America direclty from Wim Kroon the European distributor. They were quite reasonably priced. That was until Parts Unlimited kicked up a stink and closed down that source. Now you pay the mark-up associated with the product being handled by both a distributor (Parts Unlimited) and the dealer that will have to get them for you as Parts Unlimited does not sell to end-users.
Alas, you can still bypass the greedy ffuucckkss at PA. Click the following link and it will take you to Mr Ed's Moto. Talk to Don or Debbie (the owners). They have offered the K12RS board a hell of a deal on teh Ohlins and many have purchased from them with great results. The only downside is that they do not stock, thus they order directly from the factory and will have the shocks sprung to your weight and intended use (track vrs street). http://www.mredsmoto.com Good luck, and enjoy the Ohlins, they are one of the best mods you can make.
