R1100S versus Boxer Cup Replica
I' had been been looking for a good R1100S for some time and just a few weeks ago I was offered a 2004 BCR in "as new" condition. The bike was too good to pas by so I bought it. However, I have to admit (as a previously HD rider) that I have no real idea what the difference is between the BCR and a normal S.
The only obvious differences I can see are the belly pan, bar mounted mirrors and a neat colour scheme. I am certain there must be more to it than this! Can anyone please enlighten a BM newbie? Cheers, Peter |

The BCR has the 5.5" rear and "sport" suspension that was also available on the R1100S in "sport" trim in years before the existence of the BCR.

The '04 BCR has the 5.5 rear wheel ,sport suspension, carbon fiber rocker covers, carbon fiber belly pan, sport exhaust and fairing mounted mirrors. Also some had heated grips and ABS. There were some Red White and Blue '04's,but most '04's in the US were "Randy Mamola" signiture bikes and only 300 made.

The white/red/blue 2nd generation BCR (2004, 2005) has the laser cans and taller suspension. Some sources say 1100 were made.

Unfortunately any year BCR is slower than the mandrin yellow '99's.
Alright, that was just out of jealousy. |

OK thanks guys - think I've got it; minor chasis tweeks but no engine, gearbox or final drive mods.

If you're comparing to an older S, keep in mind that the '04 has all of the upgrades that were done over the years. So it's not BCR specific, but rather '04 specific.
I started a list here. I was hoping to get other bikes added but so far it's just the S.
