triple Crown central coast 6/26-28

Hi all,
well its a new decade, a new year, a neat month, and a good weekend for a ride on some of the best roads in Calif. It not that they are the best because some of them are the best. The jewel of this area is that their are so many that are so close. No riding for an hour to ride 60 - 80 turns then another hour to do some other group of turns. Here its section after section with maybe a five minute interlude.
But hey don't believe me, i just live here.

The info:
June 26(Friday) short afternoon ride, hotel, dinner(farmers market, music reggae Harp://www.visitAvilabeach.com/farmers market.html Avila beach)
June 27(Saturday) breakfast 7:00am,(eat discuss ride meeting), 8:00 Start ride(250-300 miles), Lunch , get back approx. 5:00pm, 7:00(no host or no host we will see).
June 27(Sunday) breakfast seaside cafe in shell beach, morning ride if needed if not kick back until rides leave.

their will be 25 spots available. a small group of locals will ride with us and some Z-Rated riders. New riders pm me or ride with a TC rider to confirm safety.
questions?

jeff Williams

Stuck in FRA... not knowing when I'll make it out. The only flight that got canceled today was the one I was supposed to be on.

Family and friends were great... they loved Kelly and she loved them... we also did a few really cool things, in terms of sight seeing.

Don't know yet, Sergio.... most everything on United is overbooked right now and I can not log into their system right now, from where I am... I have to wait.

Look what followed me home....:)

I'm in for the ride. I guess I'll have to pick which bike to ride...the aprilia or the new K1300GT that followed me home tonight. It was serendipity. I have my Droid set up to alert me any time there's a Craigslist posting which includes "K1300GT". Well, one popped up near me and I just bought it. It's the exact same bike I test rode at Ventura County BMW with Scott as my tour guide. I bought it from the guy who bought it from them. How weird is that? I'm so excited! It's just amazing. And Kerry swears it doesn't look like a grandma bike!

And this is just a cool picture I took. It has no relevance here at all.

That's all for now. See you guys in a few weeks!

You just want to avoid tickets! I'd never ride the ST over the GT! Here's some daytime pics....

Ah, Shelly, nice bike... just promise that you won't run out of gas, will ya?

At ORD right now, waiting to see whether San Diego is in the stars for today. At least it was Business class across the pond...

Welcome back to the USA! Geez...it's "only" a 7.3 gallon tank! haha I'll try not to be the helpless female next time.

EDIT: Per owner's manual..."useable fuel is 6.3 gallons".

Kind of, but it seems to be limited mostly to objects with wheels.

OH, and this is for Ralf...I found this on a GT forum while doing some research. It really WASN'T my fault! I ran out of gas about 3 miles after the light came on....and it said, "56 miles to empty." I've been cautious so far with this bike. Don't have a bunch of knights in shining armor to pull me, tow me, push me and bring me 16 oz water bottles of fuel. Love ya Rog!

cut/paste:

"One of my issues with the 1300GT was that the fuel guage was far from accurate. Miles to go, and the low fuel warning light not coming on until the tank was about 5 miles from empty. The dealer replaced the sending strip and now it does not come on at all. 200 miles and I am looking for fuel. I will address this issue when it goes in for the 6k service."

My first bike didnt even have a low fuel warning... the best way is to reset the trip odometer at every fuel up and just monitor it. I know that when I get to 200 miles (on the GS), I need to fuel up. About 135 on the HP2 Sport.

WoW!!!!!! What a bike!! Dang girl, I've very happy for you. Enjoy!!!! You will; however, have to get some loud pipes for it so you can use the old "vrooommmm vrooommmmm" technique for lane splitting!!

Hope all is well with all my Calif buds. Playing lotza jazz here in Dallas this month and have been riding my XR650R up in the hills around Arkansas. Ran over a big ol' Timber Rattler the other day. He didn't appreciate it very much and let me know about when I got turned around to check on him.

ps. The only thing that'll make that GT look better Mille, is you on it!!!!!
