hey, I got a 3 point

Tuesday on the way to work I had a major deer strike. Been in the hospital for the last couple of days with a brain hemorrhage/concussion.

I haven't got too far into it but damage so far is

1 every piece of body work on it.
2 oil cooler
3 headlight/windshield/gauges
4 front subframe
5 valve covers
6 no front brakes (front lines +) master cylinder cover is toast .
7 front turn signals
8 bags/bag mounts

Besides my gear, what else I'm I missing?

Wow Bill, are you going to be OK? It's easier to go deer hunting with a rifle. But, guns are prolly out of season right now. Looks totaled to me. Glad you're not. You can pull the Ohlins if the adjuster allows it and get some cash back.

LeftCoast Peter 07-07-2010 04:07 PM

Oh man sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling OK and get to 100% soon. Get well, best wishes.

signit98 07-07-2010 04:13 PM

Darn, Bill... that's NOT good. Get well soon, the rest is just material damage! You are the most important part in the damage equation.

I do have an oil cooler, if you plan on fixing the bike. Let me know.

But, as I said... take care of yourself first!

hawkeyejohn14 07-07-2010 04:25 PM

Bill I am very sorry that this happened to you. My prayers go out to you for a quick and full recovery. Take care and God bless.

CoffeeGuy 07-07-2010 04:25 PM

That's terrible. If you're posting I suppose that means your getting better. I'll donate a front subframe to your cause if needed. I'd offer my brain but I don't think you'd want it.

Meeni 07-07-2010 04:37 PM

On the good side, it's the right moment to change your trim color. Red, seriously man ?

More seriously, sorry to see that. That's always sad to see a nice bike being toasted. But the most important is that you are well and good. I wish you'll recover quickly.

AZ-Twin 07-07-2010 04:45 PM

Ouch, hope you get better soon. Stupid deer need to learn to look both ways before crossing.

varmint 07-07-2010 04:53 PM

congratulations on surviving.

wait til you're off the pain killers, then decide.

do you rebuild, or strip the goodies off and start on a fresh bike?

spoilsport 07-07-2010 05:18 PM

Sorry to hear about the deer strike, Bill. Recover quickly!

SergioK 07-07-2010 05:34 PM

This is how I know Bill's going to be okay... he's posting on the PP board and contemplating his next step and mourning his beloved S. We may have differences of opinions at times, but we're all cut from the same tree.

Bill, glad you are on the road to recovery... take Bubba's advice, use a rifle next time would ya?!?!

wswartzwel 07-07-2010 05:40 PM

Sorry about your accident, but Glad you are on the mend.

turboflyer 07-07-2010 05:46 PM

Three pointer indeed, good shooting. But dam your gun needs some serious cleaning. My buddy almost most got one here in Ca after I flushed him out on the way up to Idlewild. He wasn't as good a shot as you and missed him. Glad you survived. That ride you will remember.

Guest24 07-07-2010 05:48 PM

Bill, I'm really really glad it wasn't a moose.;) When you say 3 pointer, did you mean that he when between the rearview mirrors?

MaineRoads 07-07-2010 07:12 PM

Hope you have a quick recovery!

Can't possibly say it any better than Sergio did. Happy, and fast, healing!!!

Oh yes, those shocks crash pretty well, but if they would happen to need anything, I'll donate labor on it.
Just let me know.

chewie 07-07-2010 07:52 PM

Get well soon Bill, glad you're still drawing in air - that's the main thing, keep us posted, or post - um yeah keep us informed :D

Hire these guys Bill -- Warning may be graphic to some folks

First off I'm wishing you full recovery of your faculties, judging by what's foremost on your list to do upon discharge I'd guess already 90% there:cool:

Next I'd hire these guy's (well one of them) to sweep your stomping grounds for next month or so, whatever it takes:D

This photo is my Uncle (by marriage) he's the pilot of the bike, my late father-in-law is riding shotgun and loved to hunt deer and ducks. 1944 pic somewhere around Adel, OR. I'm looking for a better photo of this that includes their rifles, all that camp gear, and the deer carcuss and rack plus the weight added weight of both men!

The pilot (he did fly planes also) owned a HD (military surplus I believe) which I'm guessing is this bike. He then owned a Indian.

The more recent deer slayer is me, was run'in at hwy speeds on a 04 Ducati ST3, killed the little nubber buck instantly.

All the above was meant to help heal w/ humorSmileWavy
