Spark Tool Recommendations Please
1. Any recommendations for a good spark plug wrench that gets around the nooks and crannies on a R1200S?
2. Is the machined coil puller tool "so much better" than a plastic one and where would I get either? (ahem, I've located a machined one at A&S Cycles... looking around....) Thanks, Ian |
Fits perfect-buy the coil puller special tool-it's worth it:

Ian;
I got the coil remover from Marc Parnes.........it's a really nice unit.......order a wheel balancer and adapter from him while you are at it. Cheers |
Same here for Marc Parnes products, great stuff.
Thanks Cage for the spark plug socket info, I'll stop there today. |
I know that socket works for the R12S.
I'm not sure it fits in a R11S spark plug port. I seem to remember someone saying it doesn't but I'm not sure, just FYI. |
Order placed with Marc Parnes. I like his site and his prices. Thanks for the tip (both).

Cage, I have the R11S but also an R12ST.

This looks perfect. I hadn't found one slim enough - and long enough - and at such a reasonable price. However, they do not appear to ship to Canada. I'll give them a call but I clearly cannot order via their website. We shall see. Thanks for the recommendation. |

Any other recommendations for this? I'm pulling my hair out, I cannot find any sockets at the stores that fit (I've bought a few and tried), and my tool kit for whatever reason, does NOT have the stock spark plug socket.
And lucky me, the local BMW dealership doesn't seem to sell the toolkit and beemer boneyard is all out, too. I mean, my plugs only have 6k miles on them, so they *should* be mostly OK, but I would really like to check them, as I'm doing my entire service now and would like to change them out before I go worrying about syncing the throttle bodies and whatnot. I'm kind of beyond frustrated at this point. PS. I have an R1100S, which is supposedly even a tighter fit than the 1200 |

That Harbor Freight tool is too thick for a R1100S. Made my own.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1341787685.jpg
