Another full ti HP2S ex race bike for sale

From the same guys that sold me mine:

2008 BMW HP2 Sport - $16500 (would go at 15k CDN like mine I believe)
"This is an amazing sport bike. Only 3000kms on it. Has complete Akropovic titanium exhaust system, custom Ohlins suspension, lots of carbon fibre, motoGP style digital dashboard, and switchable ABS. Engine is 1200cc DOHC, with 6 speed, race transmission. Was new at over $28,000."

If anyone wants me to go look at it let me know.

I went to Mission yesterday with Rick (to watch Jeff) - saw a bunch of guys go down and was thinking its about 10'gs per down on the HP2S - and knowing me, I wouldn't be able to let those jap crotch rockets go without a fight. I have enough addictions, thanks. More backroads will have to do...

If the HP2S wasn't so close to what I already own, I would buy it in a second. I doubt BMW will release a sport version of the boxer anytime soon, if at all. Given the dismal sales of both the HP2S and R12S, and the current success of the S1000RR, I am guessing BMW has figured out where their sport bike market segment is.

I would guess any new sporty incarnation of the Boxer will be more like the R1100S than the R12S, meaning a two-up sport tourer, with the character of the boxer engine. If you want a pure sport boxer your choices may forever be limited to the current stock of R12S or HP2S machines.

Jeff, I don't think I've ever asked you, "have you ever ridden a HP2Sport?" Yes or No?

Jeff, you are correct about the market segment. I spoke with my dealer the other day and the S1000RR has brought in a completely different market segment. Both in age and racially. Black Americans are frequenting the store that would normally be seen in the YaSuKaHo venues. BMW is making new inroads.

My experience with an essentially stock R1200S (Akra slip on, cat on, Helibars) and HP2S with a no cat, full Akra setup, springs back to stock, some suspension work... PR2's on the R1200S and Pilot Power 2CT's on the HP2S. :

I put on 2000+ km's on the HP2S over that past couple weeks and have hopped back on the R1200S (HP2S stored for winter now). The riding postion is far more agressive (I do have Helibars on the R1200S). I will consider relaxing the riding postion a bit on the HP2S over winter. As for power, I find the R1200S is far more than good - I love how it lays it on - we all know that. I ride with plenty of spirit and find she does fine. The HP2S just goes like crap. It pulls hard from lower and pulls HARD longer. No comparison at all, more than you need, but its really a ton of fun. I run out of balls before I run out of pull. The HP2S is much firmer and the R1200S feels plush almost now. I have never had an issue with the PR2'S on the 12, when I do get some sliding it feels predictable and controlable. The HP2S on the Pilot Power's is on rail's and is extremely confidence inspiring. There is a huge diffference in the experience. The brakes on the R1200S are great and far surpass other bikes I have ridden. The HP2S Brembos with the floating discs are way better. I love both bikes. I prefer the R1200S instruments and find the HP2S hard to see at times. Although its pretty damn bling. If I had to have one it would be the R1200S because of the comfort and versatility - but the HP2S is extremely fun and gets a crowd where ever you go. I'm very glad I was able to manage having both.

If you find the HP instrument display hard to see ...
maybe you have to read the instruction book to adjust the LCD brightness

Got no problems to see and read the instrument display, not even when sun is up !!!

I'm a pilot and we tend to play with the switches prior to reading the tech data. I had the bike 4 months before I realized that you could alter the flashing lights for the revs.
