R1100S Soft Saddle Bag / Panniers Options?

My bike did not come with cases (or their mounts, for that matter), and while I plan to eventually source all of the right pieces for the factory cases, I'm intersted in looking at less-expensive/soft options at the moment. Anyone mount anything like this? Pics? Price points?

I can put everything I need for a weekend camping trip in a Chicane Duffle-bag... Tent goes right behind it. Bungees or wolftrap net holds it all on. I have system cases, but only use them for week long trips.

The only issue is that I need something relatively streamlined and removeable as I will use it for commuting duties (laptop, gym clothes, etc.).

Ventura rack and bag. I have had one on every bike and love them. You can remove the rack easily and the bag holds heaps and is waterproof. Bag is Easy to carry and access and allows for a pillion. Better still it can be be fitted to a bike with pannier rails installed.

You'd be amazed how much you can put in a large tank bag.

I can fit a full face helmet in this one. I have no doubt I could fit a laptop, gym clothes and tennis shoes in it, no problem and probably still have room for a sack lunch. Once you get to work or the gym, just unclip the bag and take it with you using the carry handle. Just another option.

Thumbs up OEM Bag Mounts & Cases Here and eBay

I'm a fan of the stock hard bags. I have a set of aftermarket swappable hinges though, popular in '04 when I bought my R11, that allow swapping out two lids of the three available for these side cases (city, standard, grande). The mounting rails for the bags are not as offensive as other sport tourers when sans bags and actually offer some measure of protection as large expensive frame sliders!

The aerodynamic bags are little noticeable(as apposed to the same bags on the R1150GS), even loaded, and glide through both air and and strand-still CA traffic, with little ill effect to either after brushed contact.

LEAN AND MEAN.

FOR A WEEKEND AWAY.

FULLY LOADED TO CAMP FOR WEEKS...
