Since you like Rolling Rock, you might want to try one of these, oldest brewery in the US.

Good stuff!

I drank a lot of this long ago in a far away land.

Amarit was smoother I thought. Singha had that formaldehyde aftertaste to it.

Guest24 09-19-2010 04:24 AM

Ahhh, yes. Amarit nite in downtown Korat. Formaldehyde huh, guess that's why i'm better preserved than you, Bob.:D:D:D

Moose Drool.... One of my new favorites!
Moose Drool Brown Ale

Drink whatever tastes good to ya - BUT, do NOT suck on the bottle! A good beer deserves to be tasted by being poured into a proper beer glass. Anyone who drinks beer from a bottle by choice doesn't know how beer really tastes, IMHO.

In the fatherland drink Dortmunder Union (not Dortmunder Actien), unfortunately doesn't seem to be imported here any longer. In NZ drink DB ("This man deserves a DB!"). Here Heineken fits the bill and available everywhere, except HD bars.

Fresh out of Moose Drool, so I'll probably have an Alaska Amber.

Poured into the properly shaped glass of course...:D

Cheers! BJ

PS. Go Seahawks!!!

I'll second that, just like red wine, beer needs to breathe, I have been known to carry a covered stein to picnics, and campfires.

Only thing worse is straight out of a can:eek:

lightfighter 09-19-2010 10:04 AM

i work with people who argue about whether to pour down the middle of the glass, or onto the side.

this of course is stupid, cuz veryone knows you pour 3/4 down the side, swirl the sediment, and dump it into the center.

hawkeyejohn14 09-19-2010 12:03 PM

+1 on the glass, I start on side then down the middle for a nice head.

Guest24 09-19-2010 12:09 PM

Do we need a poll on who likes beer foam.;)

throttlemeister 09-19-2010 12:39 PM

I would say that's more of a cultural thing.

The best selection of truly quality beer I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot!) is in Ithaca NY at the Chapter House

No IPA fans? Apparently, I've got it bad for that stuff...

Lagunitas has a fantastic IPA and the brewery is about 30 min away from our house :D

The taproom has excellent food, a great selection of beer (see image above), free snacks, and, best of all, cheep prices.

If any Pelicaners are in the SF Bay Area, let me know if you would like to meet up there.
