Adirondak 2-day Run
After I get back from Indy, the shredster and myself are taking a cool 2-day run up through the Adirondaks on September 18-19. We're staying at the Hotel Saranac the evening of the 18th in Saranac Lake, NY:
The Historic Hotel Saranac of Saranac Lake, New York We start off in western NJ meeting in Blairstown in Warren County. The route runs as a figure "8" starting at the bottom, then up the right (southeast) leg around the east side of the Catskills State Park, cross over to the left up on RT.30 in NYS then going up the left (northwest) leg and spending the night in Saranac Lake. The 2nd day, we'll go down the right side (northeast) leg, crossing over on RT.30 again and going home on the left side to the west of the Catskills (southwest) leg. During this run we will be going over some of the best passes (Mohonk & Minnehaska) in NYS, the great Pepacton Reservoir, of course the Adirondak State Park as well as some of the best curves in the northeast corner of PA. If you meet us in Blairstown, you'll do about 400 miles each day. Anyone who want to come along, just let us know here.

Well, it's going to be a long day and I want to get up to Saranac in time for dinner and several........beverages as well as relaxing with an after dinner cigar....so, I'm looking at a 6:00 AM Blairstown rendevous. We take several breaks including lunch along the way because.........we're old and f'd up.

Flat, if you're interested in going, you should book at room at the Hotel Saranac now, before it sells out. You can cancel it up to 72 hours before the day arrives.

Ken, I really enjoyed my riding up around Speculator. Are you going to be on NY8 at all? Do you know anything about Limekin Road south off NY28 up by 6th Lake?

Yes sir. That is a good road and there's a great breakfast spot in Speculator although we'll be passing through much later.

I stayed at a nice B&B in Speculator. Don't recall the name but dinner was great and so was the action in the bar. We heard a police car come screaming by and everyone went outside to see what was up. Nothing. He never came back.
