Too bad no one's asked them about driveability or plastic fuel tanks. I'm sure there are other instances of vehicles not liking ethanol.

My experience has been about 10% better mpg with non ethanol blends. Now we just use 91octane non ethanol because that is what we can find around here.
That study is suspect since it came from American Coalition for Ethanol. There are studies from both sides of the issue, go ahead and pick one you like. I'll stay with my own non scientific study, it has saved us money. YMMV. <;~) Good point on keeping the money here. But how about selling the ethanol corn as food to other countries and bring their money home to the good ole US of A and start drilling for our own oil instead of buying foreign oil. Keep the oil money and jobs here while we develop better alternatives. Philip |

We will run out of corn next. Farmland is being gobbled up by developers. Your day's of Jiffy Pop on the cheap are about over...
14% too low 16% moisture just right for popcorn...

Boone Pickens has it right, Wind, Solar, alternative energy forms.
In the meantime use natural gas. We have an almost unlimited supply within our own borders. |

I hate the stuff for fuel, less mpg, oxidation issues, storage/shelf life issues etc. I'm using E0 90 recreational fuel with valvetech octane booster with good results.

The Diesel fuel to run the tractors, to till cultivate, plant and spray The Diesel fuel to combine The fuel for the trucks to transport The petroleum products needed to make the fertilizer The fuel to transport the finished product to a terminal Add the BILLIONS of gallons of water needed, and the aforementioned failure of vehicle components that are imported and the VERY small if ANY energy gain and you will find it is another boondoggle by lobbyists and politicians. I'm trying as hard as I can to keep ahead of Nail with my post count... I've been here 10+ years, but he's hot on my tail, racking up posts like crazy after only 4 1/2 years. Like a thoroughbred at Arlington Park! No one can stop him! A posting force of one...

I can understand why.
Post count is a numerical statistic that's relative to the dynamics interlinking previous and present data as it relates to the determination of inconsequential information revolving around a construed and somewhat relative mathematical formula that consequently equates to an elevated platform of recognition beyond normal constraints as a denominator. It is therefore a focal point on the Internet itself being the only common factor that dictates a hierarchy of placement when a normal user seeks out data and relative criteria.

There have been lawsuits and such from 15-20% ethanol (as tested in underground tanks) killing plenty of fuel systems. Bad stuff.

I wish we had some riders from Brazil on here. They seem to make work well down there almost 100% ethanol. I would like to stop buying fuel from our friends in the middle east so they will stop suporting the bad guys that want to kill us. The world will be a better safer place when they run out of money.
