New R1100S
Picked my S up on Friday and handed over the K. It was an easy transition and I find that I ride this bike with more confidence than the K.
I got a kiler deal on a demo(800 miles) and now a few $ left for mods. I've searched on the board for cat conversations and have found that the only advantage to doing so is to "clean up" the bike. The cat is really huge so I would certainly consider removing it. The only question.....which one? I've also got a hugger coming and was looking at the larger windscreen. Any advice on the larger screen? Other than that I really love the bike as it is. I'll leave pretty much everything else alone except maybe for a triple clamp cover. It is a very cool bike and thanks for all the advice lots of you provided. NJ riding season is not over yet folks!!!!!! later, Andrew |

I went with the Cee Bailey's 20" touring shield. It works great for the cooler weather and I plan to switch back to the short stock shield when the heat arrives.
I also have the 2 brothers cat elim. pipe. No problems after 1 season. |

Welcome Andrew,
The cat eliminator pipes don't do much for power but give the exhaust note a little more bark. I had Laser and was well satisfied w/ quality-fit etc. I ordered it direct from Laser in Holland via fax, and had the pipe less than a week later. Cosmetically a 100% improvement, and I chose to remove the center stand at the same time.(I have a paddock stand for the garage.) Good luck, good riding, and keep the shiny side up!! |

Hello Andrew, congrats. on your new bike. I recently traded my Hayabusa and 929rr for a 03/Bx. Cup. Have a little over 3k on the od now and falling in love with the bike. (kinda miss the busa power, but what the heck) In-re to windshields, I found a almost new BMW tall windshield for a great price and really like it. It has great style and fits the bike nice as well as being functional. Parabellum.com has a great selection of windshields for the S and I ordered one. After comparing the two I decided to go with the BMW tall shield for the looks and quality. Hope you have an extended riding season to enjoy the S. Best to ya, Rick, Katy,Tx.

Hey Oilhead,
Which paddock stand do you use? I took my centerstand off also, and it is a little inconvenient to put it on/take it off for servicing.
