Yeah, those are nice stands, I have one for my other bike, very sturdy, I need to get one for the R12S.

Hey, post a pic of you bike in the show your scoot thread.

I am not recognizing the paint scheme from that pic, red and black?

Welcome to the board.

Hey Jim,

I was just going to order a set for my R1200S.

For the rear my other pit bull stand has the handle facing the rear. How do you like the one facing the front?

I am right handed so I didn't know how tricky it would be? With my past stand, I would hold the rear set with my left hand and prop the bike up using the pit bull with my right hand. However the handle was also more in the center of the bike since it was on a non single sided swing arm. For the BMW the handle would be way off to the right and maybe a little more tricky.

I was also wondering if you had bags on the S would the forward facing handle interfere with them when propping the bike up?

I am just debating about getting the handle facing the front of the rear handle.

Thanks for any input, experience, etc.

The front works on a lift with side extensions-the rear facing one won't:

The front facing one is an easy one man lift on the R1200S, right hand on the handle bar, push down with medium force with your left hand an bike lifts easily. No bags so I can't say.

I tried it on my R1200RT and it works but much more effort is required. On my R1200RT the side bag has to come off, also I start with it on the center stand.

I would go with the front facing model.

so far it seems like the front facing one is the way to go!

Thanks again for the advice/experiences.

The BMW stand is very nice.
It does not have wheels, but I am sure you could put them on if needed.
It pivots to the rear and I can use it one my Handy lift. The handle is also removable, which is a plus for storage and makes the stand less of a trip hazard.
I liked the BMW one so much, I bought another one for the garage.

Cheers

I pulled the trigger on a pair of Pit Bull stands for just under $300 shipped.

I have both and use my front facing rear stand all the time. Only use one for the front wheel when changing the front tire - less than once per year.
