Throttle body sizes?
My questions are what size is the diameter of the throttle bodies found in the mid 1990's BMW 1100 & 1200 bikes? And does the single throttle cable control all 4 bodies that are on bracket?
I have been over on the Porsche boards for a number of years and I am currently looking at several different 4 cylinder BMW motorcycle 1100 and 1200 throttle body setups on E-bayas complete units! I am working on a Porsche 944 custom engine project and thought I would toy around with one of these units to make my own single throttle body per cylinder by cutting a spare Porsche 944 intake manifold right after it bends over to horizontal position. I like that the BOSCH throttle position sensor from the 944 will go right on as they are same dimensions and the throttle cable in my car looks like it will be an easy convert to this setup. Then I can use a large airbox from another car with 4 precise holes sealing up to this and my cars computer Air Flow Meter can be attached before the air box with its own conical filter! It will be a cheaper version of this setup shown below: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/attachments/924-931-944-951-968-forum/488281d1289513239-330hp-na-street-engine-targa944-003.jpg Any help would be greatly appreciated as I e-mailed several different Ebay sellers of these units but they have not gotten back, thanks Shawn

Hi Commdiver, this is a pretty eclectic group with some fantastic technical knowledge here but focused on the boxer 2 cyl engines. I suggest you post same in the K1200 forum which is not as active as this group but focused on the four cylinder variants of BMW bikes. That said, someone here may have the answer for you but I'd suggest contacting a BMW M/C dealer and have them look that up for you.

Thank you gentlemen that helps a lot, I have tried dozens of key word searches but no luck as of yet. I have a source that may think the 4 bodies are 38mm each
