R1200S Remus

Hello all.
I just bought an R1200S and was directed here by another forum.
Just wondered if there are any exhaust experts here.
My bike came with the after market Remus silencer exactly like the one pictured above.
The baffles have been removed.
It's not the sort of thing I'd have done but it sounds great.
I am worried however that damage maybe caused.
I've heard of GS's burning out exhaust valves with open Remus pipes.
Can anyone put my mind at rest ?
I'm working on the assumption that no compensatory measures were taken with the fuelling.

Is it a full system, header and all? Do you still have the cat?

That's the system I have but full down to the headers. The owner that drove 2200 miles on the bikes when new had that installed and did not use the baffles.

He had them and I put them in, since the bike was too loud (we have decibel restrictions in certain towns) but there was no damage after 2200 miles w/o the baffles.

Hi Leeways,

You should be fine. However, moving forward you should consider a Techclusion(You will need to dial this in) or an FRK plug and play module. I have the same bike, model, and similar set-up and typically these bikes run lean. Either suggestion will work above to take care of your concern.

FYI: I have the full Akrapovic system with the FRK2 module and the bike is done right vicious.
