'old' 2006 RT is gone ; the new 2011 one arrived !
.
Yep ; the 'old' 2006 RT is gone. Brought this beauty last Thursday (February 17th) to the dealer (Van Harten), and they put 'her' in their showroom immediately. I gave the bike that morning a fresh, and final polish ; and that was it... :( Pity... Liked that bike (and color !) very much. some final shots (last Thursday) http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/b9019f77.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/1e36e55a.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/b0c0cd86.jpg And with tears in my eyes, I took a train or two getting home... http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/cd15e1f6.jpg And after coming home ; Van Harten's web-site already looked like this... :) http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/0abf139f.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/9d1ba947.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/ce003413.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/461923bb.jpg 2006 not even 28.000 miles on the clock immaculate condition asking price 13.450,-- €uros . |
.
And, hurray, hurray : today (February, 22nd) our new 2011 Polar colored one arrived... :) http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/26ee5c8c.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/20c4e530.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/b80e2432.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/37bda4fc.jpg The bike came on Bridgestone BTW ; but they will be replaced by Michelin. I don't like handling of the BT-021. And when the paint-guy is ready ; the bike will look something like this... :) Hope I can pick her up in about two weeks. I will keep you posted ! http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/492152bc.jpg (dark wheels, resprayed roundels, a resprayed tankbag thing, and a few other bits and pieces) And maybe also with a set of dark heads... http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...8e7b0a-2-1.jpg . |
Very nice, but I wouldn't count on those bags holding very much.:D Tell me the story on those fobs. Are they the alarm system activators or for a garage door opener? Piedmont Red was my favorite and the color of my first R1200RT in '05.

Wow Ron, it looks like you had a beautiful day for your last ride on your 06 RT. I am sure you look forward to many happy miles on your new steed.
Congratulations! |
Congrats, Ron... nice bike... I like the color as well, though the red looked great!
Have fun with your new bike and stay safe! |
WOW! Congtrats! From beauty to beauty.
|
beautiful!! no regrets when you are trading up like that!
i like the look without the trunk. |
...braggert!
Man I like the black wheels idea. Black and silver, looking brutish and GSian Bavarian. Need a tinty windscreen as well. |

...and grey as in : Schiefer Dunkel Metallic Matt... ...same color as on the lower fairing parts... ...and (all) the roundels : matt-white with matt-dark-grey-metallic... :p |

What does the 2011 bike do that the 2006 did not?
