OT/Connector and Socket Needed

I've searched the internet for two days looking for these connectors and light sockets. Does anyone have any idea who makes these for Vario Lighting and Jaguar? They go on the side marker lights fore and aft. As you can see the ferrous contacts are completely gone. I don't want to pay $450.00 for the entire assembly for 4 ea. lights.

For a two wire circuit, you don't need a "Jaguar" connector.
Any two wire automotive connector can be spliced into the circuit.

Try an electronics store, they might have what you are looking for.

Cheers

Try Del City - Wiring Products and Professional Electrical Supplies . They carry some specialty stuff.

Bubba, you can't just buy the socket and/or connector from Jag you have to buy the whole light assembly? The harness connector looks like the connector for a fuel injector. If you cant find the harness connector I might have one off a car wiring harness.

Bigred455 03-05-2011 04:49 PM

With that said does it have to be the same as stock? The T/S socket looks very similiar to the 11S frt t/s socket, maybe solder in a completely different socket?

Yup,

You will find those parts reasonably only at junkyard. Take diagonal cutters and insect repellent with you.

It does look like that George. I found out that it's made in China-surprise-surprise.

This is the terminal connector: auto connector housing products, buy auto connector housing products from alibaba.com

I'm still looking for the socket with the contacts in it.

Here is the harness connector you need Nail

Thanks Swartzie and Bill Mundis, also. Now to find the wedge light socket. Or as Mr Mundis said, I may have to go NASCAR and fabricate the guts.

roger albert 03-05-2011 05:27 PM

Not as simple as shreddr implies. There are literally dozens of variations on the Bosch 2 and 3 pin connectors, with lots of keying options, and different depths. For instance, there are multiple variations of that connector on the M2.2 and M2.4 R11x0 bikes alone, about 3 that I can think of.

roger albert 03-05-2011 05:33 PM

... my point being, not to give shreddr grief, but to take very careful photos, and depth measurements (and make sure it's apples to apples i.e. with w/o weather seal thickness),
or better yet, snip and carry one with you.

Or if you're not trying to stay super stock, get good weatherpak connectors at Pep Boys or equiv.

And note, it COULD be the right one that shreddr and Bill mention, but it's not a slam dunk
(for instance, not even a company like DynoJet was able to procure that connector, which is why the PCIII never came out for the S. Nor the GS11 guys the very similar 3pin one under the seat on M2.2 beemers, and thus no GS11 service for the tons of old 1100s out there. (save our 11Ss, which are M2.4)

Bigred455 03-05-2011 05:35 PM

Second Rogers thoughts, but you could always shave the 'key' of the t/s socket. just a thought. I'll look and see what I have as far as a connector and socket in the morning.

Guest24 03-05-2011 05:36 PM

Correct roger. The one that I found n China in lots of 1000 is the exact copy. But, the socket in the key. Bill Mundis and I discussed eliminating the terminal connector it I can find a two wire socket that will form/fit the light housing.

wswartzwel 03-05-2011 05:36 PM

The One I posted fits the Air temp sensor on the air box of the R1100S I bought them from that vendor when I made my spoofer. So you could go out to your garage try it on your bike nail, and see if it is the same before ordering.

Guest24 03-05-2011 05:38 PM

Thanks again Bill.

roger albert 03-05-2011 05:49 PM

Do you guys have that solder stuff down there?

wswartzwel 03-05-2011 05:52 PM

Lol!

Here you go Nail

Bigred455 03-05-2011 05:54 PM

You still need the socket though correct? Pull the frt t/s off your 11S and see if it will plug into the light housing. Then you can hardwire it to the car or make a new disconnect.
