Some pipe cleaning today
These pipes have bugged me since i bought the bike. Not so much the bluing as someone had spilled something on them and they were blotchy. And just looked horrible compared to the TwoBrothers cans. So i took them off and did some sanding (1000grit) then some time with the buffer. Not perfect, but better.

Did the same 4 days ago. Worked them with 220 first, because they had a crust of rust and spots all around. Then switched to 800. This gives a nice "technological" polished alloy look that I do prefer to "shiny" bling. Pipes got back to golden color in 2 days, but still look nice

My pipe look the same, but the plugs have always looked good. I think it's a crapshoot with the pipe as to their apperance. Are you sure the header pips are stainless and not chromed? I would polish mine, but I always thought it would go through the chrome and nickel plating and rust.
Let us know how they fair.
