Steve, best bet is to go to what I refer to as "the holding yards" the old peoples home centres, kick back have a cup of tea or two, get to know the crew and you'll ferret out a good deal in no time

Well here's my belated two peneeth for what it's worth,I haven't read the Political thread I don't view the Pelican as some kind of facebook,if it ain't bikes and related then I'm not interested, and the are no end of threads on here I don't even open.

For more years than I can remember I've condsidered Bob Hancock to have been the only sane person on here by some margin,re his post's from his Ducati days, over the last couple of years that has changed, probably because he's made the mistake of joining the lunatic asylum instead of staying on the fringes,I made the same mistake a while back and realised pretty dam quick, and hopefully I won't make the same mistake again.

If he didn't post then I for one would miss them.

steve~
if you're interested, i know of one in great shape. it has custom paint (flames and pin stripe), the motor has been ported and he has some suspension work done.
according to the current owner, it's never been raced, but i'm not sure sure...the guy has a lot of trophies in his den....

does sweet wheelies too.
comes complete with that rack you put on the back of the car.

Did you hear the news?
Can you believe it?

Bob's out riding. He's gone through a set or two of tires on his f800gs. He's heading up and traveling the TransLab highway soon.

How can this be?
I'm so disillusioned... (sniff)

Lassie...
Lassie... Come home...

I have never thought of this place as a substitute for riding... But as a distraction from work. I have often wondered why retired people didn't spend more time on the road and less time here. I remember Bob, saying he was going to do that trip... Good for him.

They do when they own Harleys and Gold Wings.

Sounds like I missed something. I guess I "Hancocked" too as I haven't logged on for a good while. Life sure gets in the way of my internet surfing.

I'm a relative late comer but as has already been mentioned, I have also dropped off because of bickering, egos and too many OT threads creeping in - but mainly the in-fighting!

Supposedly, we all came to this forum because of the love of the bike and motorcycle riding. With that goes the camaraderie because as we all know, riding - whether that be track days or a 1 month tour in the European Alps - is way more fun with friends.

As much as a bit of tongue-in-cheek push & shove can be fun - at the end of the day, I try and behave the same way I teach my children to behave; with respect, caring, kindness & honesty. Without that, we are just Cave Men rushing over to the other tribe to rape & pillage...

Finally, continually putting someone down on a public forum is just not cool. If someone rubs you the wrong way, just ignore their thread or post, they'll lose steam pretty quick - without fuel there can be no fire! It's called dignity people.
