New, Digital Harmonizer Vacuum Multi-Tool Available

Found this guy selling a new digital Harmonic Balancer on ADVRider. It's basically a 21st Century Twinmax on steroids. I'm buying one next week, how about you?

WOBB is a term of endearment we use for flatty, Wobbly Old Broken Basterd... not really sure how it applies to you tho.

Just his desire for mercury poison stone age sticks -- after my first bio-hazard incident, I've never looked back.

Mercury doesn't have a digital tach either.

OK, dusting off this thread, I busted out my Harmonizer for the first time tonight and it is a very cool tool. Took me a little while to get the concept of the sync process, but once I did I discovered that the left throttle cable was WAY loose and the TBs were way out of sync. Got it all dialed in nicely and the bike is noticeably smoother and has better, finer throttle response. Big improvement all around.

N.

EDIT: USE THIS LINK! The one above won't let you order using the PayPal link.

I've got one as well. Looking forward to using it once I get everything put back together.

So did Emperor Chin but it didn't help him much. :D

wswartzwel 03-22-2012 05:07 AM

With Mercury, I can get more information about the condition of the engine, by watching how it pulses, and how much overall vacuum there is, than just if the cylinders have equal vacuum at the vacuum ports.

Buzzz 03-22-2012 07:10 AM

There is gauge mode on the Harmonizer too.

I plan to buy one soon. Have sold my carbtune last week...

wswartzwel 03-22-2012 07:17 AM

4 of them? Cool. I was not aware of that.

When I hear of "harmonizing vacuum" I think something like this:

4 guages.
When synchronizing a multi cylinder engine, a mercury stick allows me the ability to watch up to 4 cylinders simultaneously. You can blip the throttle and see if they all drop back to the base level vacuum equally. If not this gives a red flag that you have mechanical issues, like a leaky valve or sticking butterfly if they do not all rise and fall together.

Buzzz 03-22-2012 11:58 AM

OK. I didn't think about 3 or 4 cylinder motors. But hey, we're on a Boxer forum. Aren't we. ;)
