Jerry, you got H-D stock or maybe a relative that works fer 'em. This is a BMW forum. I just dropped by the H-D dealership last Saturday to look at their new bikes. They looked exactly like they did when i went there 5 years ago. They are touting ABS now.

The Sassman boys race Sportster was the best bike on the floor.

Bubba, you a BMW koolaid drinker? I put OT in the subject line, but I thought any "motorcyclist" would appreciate good news about any motorcycle manufacturer.

Bubba, that is a sexy little harley. I always wondered why they decided to make only inflated fat ladies, when in the 70's they did have some interesting performance bikes.

I'm happy for the "Cheese Heads", Jerry. I just took my FXRS out of mothballs after 6 years in the basement at Das Bikehaus. I put some quiet mufflers on it and re-jetted the S&S super E carb and it's running like it did in 1985. I'm getting a little vibration on deceleration with the bike in gear. Any of you old Evo bikers go suggestions I'm all ears.

I'm looking at some Bridgestones to update the ten year old Dunlops before I take it on the road.

The Sassmans have been racing in AMA for a while now. They were racing Yamaha's but have always loved Harleys since their grandfather Grover Sassman is one of the very early H-D dealerships in the country. He is a great man to sit down and talk motorcycles with.

We contributed to the bump in H-D's bottom line...

Fear not, I'm still riding the R1100S Monday - Friday. The H-D was a bucket list thing as we have a number of friends who are into the H-D scene and Debbie wanted to check it out....

This was the bike upon arrival at home. Needs better shocks/fork springs (on their way) and a few other things tweaked to sort out the ergonomics.

That's because a Harley has timeless lines.

Like a 1969 Camaro's styling flowing through to the new 2011 Camaro.

And the thing is, many riders are out for just the fun of it, not looking for sheer performance or whatever.

So Harley is the Budweiser of motorcycles when many here prefer some microbrew.

Every time I've ridden any H-D product the motor dominated the conversation I had with the bike. The Chassis on the other hand played a distant almost feeble note. This is lopsided to me thus the appeal is compromised. The major appeal for most H-D owners I think is the image that goes with the Bike. If a man's ego needs a boost an H-D seems to be the remedy of choice for many men...thankfully I was never caught up in that.

I think it was after my growth spurt between 10th and 11th grade that laid that all aside. Being taller than most of my peers stopped allot of the pushing a shoving I received when I was shorter than most.

I think the 1985 FXRS frame is the best riding one I've ridden. The wheel base is a bit long but it turns in well for a big twin.

Bubba, regarding the vibes on decel... check the front belt drive pulley nut to make sure it is tight, and the primary chain tension. Also make sure belt tension is not too tight, should be able to give it a 1/4 twist

I'm still waiting to make some money back from when I bought "high" -- 45s and 50s.

Yeah right, I sold that crap and took a loss years ago. The only thing I have left is fractional shares, only cuz I'd pay more in fees than the stock is worth.

WORTHLESS INVESTMENT!

My FXDX would smoke that FXRX!

It look for the GT501 or K591 tyre for that bike.

There are winners in the stock market, but many more losers when counted individually. Winners are the professionals that do it for a living, or are helped by the government. Losers are usually the general public.
