I did what Dean did...

I just picked up a new (old) bike. Not sure why, but I did. The price was too good to pass up. Hopefully I can get my wife on it. I won't truly have it in my possession until this Saturday, but here's a crappy pic. It's a birth year bike. As old as I am.

A birth year bike! That's a cool idea. Geez, did they make anything cool that I'd like from 1962? 1962? Who said that? Just wondering...for a friend...ya, that's it...for a friend.

How about a neat 1962 Honda Benly 125 twin?

Honda C92 Benly for sale 1962

My 1963 Benly 150 is a relative power house and has rubber pads on the fuel tank for good knee grip in those tight corners.

I think it's cool to own a vehicle that's as old as I am, but my non riding friends don't really get it.
Anyhow, that's my connection- as I'm too young to remember the "good ol' days".
I would trade it for a Norton Commando though.

Not as many as my r1100s.

Only 104,000. But it's really clean and tidy. The seller has a fairing he removed that I get also, but I don't know what it is.
Bags don't have keys, but they're unlocked.

I'll have to study up on the airheads so I can familiarize myself with issues, maintenance, etc. I couldn't even find the ABS cut off. Couldn't find the rear disc brake either, looks like it's hidden inside something.

Tell your friend I don't think they made motorcycles that long ago.

Mine was a '74 in that colour scheme with Craven bags and a Windjammer..........I hated how all my clothes smelled like fiberglass!

So what would a good '57 birth year bike be?

Cheers

Nuclear power was pretty cool but home inventing and DIY projects were huge - makes todays DIY reality shows seem tame.

I've looked at that bike. Honz is one of the good guys. Someone should buy it.
