Akrapovic Inserts

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to buy the noise reduction inserts for the R1200S Akrapovic pipes? Or has anyone had aftermarket ones made?
I ordered the pipe with the removable inserts from a company in the US not too long after getting my R1200S in 2007, but they sent me the racing slip on (without the inserts) by mistake. While they were happy to replace it I frankly couldn't be stuffed trying to ship the pipe back to the US from Australia, so I stuck with the racing pipe and have been very happy with it. Next year, however, I am due for a bike inspection with my rego renewal, and suspect the current pipes won't pass the Australian noise regulations. Hence I'm trying to find a way to get a set of noise inserts in.
Ideally, I'd rather not have to drill a screw hole in the base of the CF outer shell either - if anyone has any other ideas of how to get an easily removable baffle in there I'm open to suggestions.
Pic of my pipe and the schematic of what I was meant to be sent are attached:

Thanks all!

[Edit]: If I was to get an insert made - how much of a difference does the 'barrel' of the proper Akra noise reduction insert make to the noise attenuation? (ie will a cover sitting in each pipe make much of a difference, or will I need the long barrel-like extension on it too...)

what about swapping the silencer out with an appropriate pipe for the test? not aloud? parden the pun

can you not put the double anus can in for the test? don't have it?

if not I can send you my original silencer and it might cost you $50 in freight, round trip??

Hi Chewie,
Yep, I've still got the original pipe but really don't want to have to be swapping pipes every year just to pass rego. If I'd got the Akra street pipe it'd obviously be easy to just use the insert whenever I needed it, but don't have that option so am looking for a similarly simple way to stick a NR insert it the Akra racing pipe.

You will want to double confirm size before going thru hoops.

That particular pipe you have will not be able to take the inserts without damaging the pipe.
I thought those pipes did meet EU noise regulations, so it might just pass.
I have the full Ti Akro on mine and it just has a nice rumble to it.
The Ti Akro on my HP2 without the inserts is a different story!

It should take less than an hour to swap the end cans for the test.

Cheers

I think I still have the inserts from my system but it will be a couple of weeks before I can ship them. You'd still have to think about drilling holes though. Interested?
