So what's it ('04) worth?
Nail24 recently posted a '99 with extras, but 103K on the clock at $5,500. "A" just picked up a low mileage '99 for $3,750. I have seen prices for '99-05 from $4,000-$9,000 seemingly with little correlation to mileage or year. I am considering a local plain grey '04 ABS, htd grips in excellent condition 12k on the clock (12k service not done) and a far away '04 BCR ABS htd grps reportedly in excellent cond. also with 12k on the clock, but service has been done. What are good prices, fair prices, and what is too much for each? (Recommendations that I get counseling or psychiatric services need not be made, as I know that I am over thinking this.)

At the risk of telling you something you already know, the '04 should go for something between Nail's and "A"'s. Nail's bike is modified with some nice pieces and priced appropriatly: there is a reason Ohlin's are gold!!! In this market, build year makes very little difference... look more at the miles. ABS might add a couple hundred...might. 12,000 mile tune up might add a couple hundred. Might.

Around 4ish for the 99, 6ish for the 04 BCR. Opinion only.

If you use e-Bay... Max BMW had a bid of 7101.00 for a nice 05 BCR and turned it down to relist it.

Max is definitely on the high side. He has a 99 W/34K for $7500 on craigslist. He has to make a buck but....The bikes are worth what people are willing to pay, there are deals to be had if you shop around.

I wouldn't count the service for much....just too easy to do yourself. Unless of course it's high mileage and needs more than an oil change and valve check.
In 2007 I sold my 2004 BCP with about 44,000 miles on it as I recall for $6500. It had all the good stuff (ohlins) plus system cases with both lids. As far as year, try to get a 2004 or later. They did some things to the tranny tabs then and they were dual plugged. (There's a thread on this forum all about this. Search.) I personally wouldn't buy an earlier year model although I did have a new '99 that gave good service and was sold with 24,000 miles, no issues.
