[Way OT] good comunication system 2x + for a EU tour
 

where do I start?.. perhaps by saying, that me and one (guaranteed, one unsure) mates are planning on a bit of tour in Spring. Route? I shall maybe ask about [UK- Dover] - [DE-Kiel]- rest is not important (kinda obvious). So, no need for speedy route, but nice roads would great (btw needs a bit of a planning still- will be using SatNavs) looks like we'll make one B&B night stop anyway. Good sites/roads would be appreciated.
Now to the important bit: communication systems needed. I have to say, that I've used in ear etc bits as for the phone, still got some cheap and uncomfortable system as for phone(cable and SatNav- bluetooth) connection- not good enough!
Anyone has decent System, that would recommend and that it would be- Bluetooth(two device)able; intercom- two+ riders; would not be cable web, could pick up phone/SatNav; would be easily fitted in to full face and flip lids; would be poss to charge on car-like chargers...
Plenty of time and fairly long shot, but would love some advice, Thanks!

Go with the scala. But if you want to to talk to you buddy. You will want to add a radio, or you will be roaming on you cell phone.

If using it more than once, invest the money in an Autocom system with a PMR. You can get good deals in the UK from chainspeed.co.uk. Very friendly and knowledgeable guy that can properly advise you on comm systems. Forget about those cheap systems being able to communicate at highway speeds, it's not happening. With Autocom, you'll still be able to understand each other doing well over 100mph.

And you may not like cable spagetti, but keep in mind that cables are the only solution that will always work reliable. Something that can definitely NOT be said about BT.

Sena Bluetooth

I've been using them for a year and a half and the batteries still hold a full day's charge. They just flat work: intercom (up to four units paired 2-way), phone (iPhone controls for phone and music), gps... Portable from helmet to helmet, base plates are cheap with lots of inexpensive accessories. Simple (one phone button, one jog dial), weatherproof, easy to use with full gloves, great noise canceling, no cable mess, foolproof solid helmet mounting (with new metal backplates.

While I have minor nits to pick (optional headphone baseplate has horrible interference until shielded with tin foil), the bottom line is that for smartphone users this beats autocom hands down for ease of use and just plain delivering the hoped-for experience.

Everyone of my riding buddies that has tried it has bought one or two.

PS: yes, you can hear both music and intercom at over 120 - DAMHIK.

PPS: respectfully disagree that cables are always reliable. I have had many cables fray and break with constant Moto use.

PPPS: the sena comes with a car 12V charger so it can clearly be worked out on th bikes.

Been to accessories shop got more or less same advice, but not clear as what is really the best. Scala system been recommended (did offer to order); AutoCom was recomended... now I looked at

Sena SMH10 seems reasonable and automated enough, bloke had not even mentioned it... and of cause!- in UK prices are even higher in £££ as what American buddies get in $$$...
Perhaps will do a more research and bargaining, though seems like Best system to get. Shame it looks like 4x price of cheaper units, but what works- that does!

And cables will save you from adding even more pages of forums filled with connectivity issues of BT-systems...
And so far I failed to find a BT system that can come close to match audio & communication quality at speed of my Autocom. Not even close.

I shall ingore and maybe even regret your advice, but functionality without wire web is what makes me go for Sena as Cardo appears to have mixed up reviews(2'nd choice) :p How much for as communicating is going to happen- I recon, that'll be plenty good enough (hopefully):D

Get in touch with Sam at Chainspeed. He carries BT- and wired systems.
If I would opt for BT, I would consider the BT Next which got a better review than the Cardo G4.
