"Pseudo" Boxer bike pics...

Nothing technical here; just some pictures of my bike after some "eye candy" mods. I really like the Boxer cup bike look so I've worked toward that end.

As for setup I have a complete Laser system, a BB chip, the SJ air filter and intake, and a shorter Moto Techniques paralever arm .

After a convoluted process I got my hands on a Boxer cup spoiler so I've spent the last few weeks working on painting it and the front turn signal pods to blend into the overall look. Also moved the rear turn signals.

I absolutely love this bike and hope to log many more miles. Performance wise I'm a very happy camper (even if EZ-Riders' bike is faster!!) It has turned the quarter mile at 114.9 mph in 11.68s. Hope you enjoy also.

Steve,
This bike looks great!

A couple of questions.
What did you do paint wise on the front fender?
What paint did you use on the spoiler?
I'm thinking of painting my S next winter and I'm starting the list now.
How do you like the Lazer exhaust? Can you run it w/out the chip? The importer is here in Dayton so I'm leaning toward a Lazer rather than a 2brothers.

Thanks,
John

Hey Steve,

It looks great I like how it turned out
When we ride down to Sears point in May we will both have the poser factor covered very well if I say so myself.

Fantastic Job! The paint work ties in well. This is what the Boxer Cup Edition should look like!

Great job I like how your engine spoiler ties the great lines of the bike together. .

Make sure you get paid when we see this as one of BMW's new model R1100Z

Do you have more photos ? I like to see a front on shot if you have any.

Steve,

Nice work.

The boxer cup chin spoiler especially.

This may have been asked in an older post but any clearence problems so far ??... that baby looks like it hangs pretty low.

Hate to see that beauty of a paint job get wacked.

Tryin to visualize how it would look on my bike in black.....Hmmmm.

SNAP!

Errr, almost....

Damn more ideas on how to improve the look of my S.

The boxer cup spoiler looks magic in the matching paint.

Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Great job Steve!

Which engine spoiler is that Webby. Nice and sleek looking. Not as slab sided looking as the Boxer Cup one.

Thanks very much for all the positive feedback. I'll try to cover several of the questions in one post.

I actually got the spoiler through a friend's friend in Europe. I don't know exactly. But this website has what looks to be the same spoiler under the heading "radiator protector".

www.boxer-design.de/en/index.htm

As for clearance, I've only ridden it once since I completed the project, but I don't see any problems under almost all conditions. The shape on the sides actually tucks under the cylinders very well and unless you completely laid it down you have no issue. The front of the spoiler is 5" off the ground. I can't go crub hopping, but it seems to be reasonable. Considering use in Boxer Cup races I don't think road/track clearance is an issue. But I'll certainly be screaming if something does happen!

Here's more views of the bike:

Steve...

That's pure "tits!"
What's with the front fender?...'seems longer on the back side than the one on my '99.
Is that the "sport" version fender?
Sure beats the fender extender look.
Where do I get one of those?

Don
