It is ugly. I'm in the process of designing my own led array, I'll report back.

I bought the DDM Tuning LED which I'm very happy with. Easy install too.

I have one by gizmo mill....love it. It blinks at first, then very bright solid light. Has been in service for 5-6 years.

I love the Gizmo mill unit and have had one on my GS's, KLR, etc but just try and get one now. I hope somebody knows something I don't but I think the company has folded.

Hyperlights sounds pretty similar to the Gizmo Mill unit as described.
Hyperlites Flashing led motorcycle brake lights, runing lights, and turn signals, Standard Dual Function No experience with it, and no endorsement... just heard about them, and they sound like what you are describing. |

That is ugly, ruins the look of the bike. I would just get a clear alternative LED kit. It is it comes with a clear cover and led bulb.

I sat behind a Gold Wing that had the Hyperlites kit installed. It was bright and really really annoying, and I was basically a captive to sit there an endure it. This was in full daylight. It would have been maddening to experience at night.

My Hyperlites unit kept shorting out. It was a POS. I now have BRAKE! by Road Rocketeer. Happy so far, very bright by day.

Good to know. Hyperlights are annoying and marginal quality... Will not order them in the future.

+1 for Brake! Eight different flashing patterns IIRC, including only a brake light if that's what you want. Very bright and looks much better than the Wunderlich unit, IMHO.

I kept the stock lens and went with a super bright and multi function LED set up. Could not be happier. Company out of canada. I can get the name if any one is interested. Way brighter and better made than the one I have on the duck.

My wife has Brake! and tri function (stop, turn, tail) Hyperlites on her bike BECAUSE they're annoying!
If we can't avoid an accident in front of us it's generally OUR fault. But there isn't much you can do to keep from being rear ended at a stop light by someone texting or under the influence. I clipped the wire so they flash eternally but stock they flash for a few seconds and then go solid. Half of the Brake! unit has already failed, the Hyperlites on the other hand (which I have installed on 4 bikes) has only had one cluster loose half its LED's and it was replaced for free. On my bike I have an LED taillight and two of the 16 LED Hyperlites and they're working as intended because they're so annoying people don't usually ride my a$$. And yes, before Hyperlites I was actually bumped at a stoplight and was lucky to keep the bike upright so I'm biased.
