I wouldn't mind owning that bike, poor thing would never go as fast as it had though in the past. Perhaps it would be a nice retirement for it, lol.

I'm sure it's been rode hard and put away muddy. On the other hand, it's got "ohlen suspention."

I don't think so. He's shilling for BMW & does track day instruction.

He occasionally races... but not as frequently anymore.
The new job is considerably better... he travels around (the US and the World) and helps introduce and show off the bikes.
While he misses the Boxer engines, he has become quite proficient on the I-4 Series again.

Still turns into a different person on a Bike, though... great rider, better instructor. Those who had the pleasure of having been on a track with him, can (and likely will) attest to that.

As for the bike... while it is a race bike, it still is an R11S... should be fairly solid in it's core. I wouldn't mind owning it.

I can attest to what Ralf says, I saw Nate at the Long Beach, CA Motorcycle show in December at the BMW display standing right next to the S1000RR talking away to many interested listeners. Wanted to say hi, but the crowds were large and my time was short. Another time...
