MotoGp Losail Spoiler
Hard to believe that there is no thread for the opening days of the 1000cc MotoGP with Colin edwards mounted on the CRT bike with a beemer engine. This was cageyar's normal posting. Chris should be very happy with Crutchlow's performance thus far. Hayden has even looked good during FP and QP. The race tomorrow should be exciting.

it should be interesting, Stoner is not happy, Warmup is 8:00am PST it will be interesting to watch to see if Stoner runs better, since he had lot's of complaints about chatter and stated the team had to find a solution tonight. And poor Rossi 12th just ahead of Colin 2.2s behind Lorenzo on pole, while Nicky get's 5th only 1s off the pole. and the other two Ducati's 8th and 10th. Lorzeno did not seem to have any front end issues like Spies had, two wrecks for Spies, one in FP2 and one in QP. Lorenzo looks smooth as usual. Well the Yamah's look good.

I'm as superstitious as the lad so I'm saying nothing, but with the new Bridgstones the tyres will have gone off before half distance, will be interesting to see how each rider handles it.

Well, it was interesting... Moto2 as well as MotoGP.
What a showing from Bradl in his first race in the top class, after little testing during the winter. Best battle was between Dovi and Crutchlow, by far. Front will be business as usual, it seems. As soon as Honda will have the problems with Stoner's bike sorted out (or as soon as Stoner has sorted himself out) it will likely be his to loose. Kinda curious to see what will unfold in Moto 2 now, between Luthi and MM....

Well, the first race is in the books and the tires are back in play. Pedrosa's "hole shot" was damned good. Does anyone know what happened to Ben? Edwards was still trying to get the BMW CRT to respond to the spurs. He said the s-word in response to the 2 min lap when he thought the bike was going to throw him. Stoner's wrist was hurting from the chatter. We'll hear more I'm sure. Maybe some of our Aussie Pelicans can elaborate.

The images as Stoner was getting off his bike did seem to indicate a problem with his right wrist. The after race interviews weren't shown on the footage I watched. They did show an interview with Jeremy Burgess commenting on Valentino Rossi in a way I haven't heard before. All in all an interesting race and looking forward to see how this year develops. It did leave me wondering whether Rossi will see the year out though.

Yep Kevin I was thinking the same thing. KB mentioned Rossi being past his prime. And Stoner looked to have a sore right wrist after the race.

Well I heard Crutchlow senior has shaved his mustache off in celibration of junior qualifying on the front row, that'll be a sight to see next time he turns up
![]() Crutchlow junior has always been a slow learner(not just bikes!!) and true to form with his racing career after the penny has dropped upped the anti, all he has to do now is learn to get off the line!!!!,and hope Yamaha will be kind with upgrades. I'd suggest it's a 3 horse race for Spies job next year,he's not started well, having his mom in the garage at his age!! jeeze!! Stoner had arm pump,I'm not sure if he has ever had the arm operation,Crutchlow has had 2 ops on his. Moto 2 will make interesting viewing for the rest of the year ![]() Moto 3 how about the Italian 16 year old in his first GP ![]() |

Great races yesterday, but wow those new Bridgestone's are terrible. People were having trouble keeping the rear in before the halfway mark of the race.
Sad to see Stoner give up the lead like that, too. Apparently his wrists basically went numb so he was having a lot of control problems due to that. I was happy to see Hayden do relatively well, though. And hopefully Spies has a better showing next race. I'm thinking the crashes in practice and all just shook him up a bit. But he is fast and really, could compete for the title if he can keep with it |

From Stoner's interview, the tires weren't the problem. It was totally the arm pump. From what I've read about it he might be able to weight train himself out of it. Colin offered the woman interviewing him a ride on what he deemed "the Beast." It seems the BMW drive train is getting a reputation.

Thats what was asked for because with the old Bridgestone it was chicken and egg syndrome, they worked if you could get them hot, assuming you didn't fall off in the attempt, you'll notice a lot less fell off in the race, but everyone struggled with wear, which looks like a knack in it's self.

Be careful what you wish for. Bridgestone came to prominence partly because their tires worked over a broader range of conditions than the Michelins. Not such a narrow sweet spot in terms of tarmac or temp. Now of course, they have no one to keep them on their toes, but, at least it's a level playing field.

I really din't hear tire problems from anyone other than the announcers. Stoner didn't really whine about tires. Spies was saying nothing during his interview; but, what he did say by "not saying" is that his bike wasn't set-up right and Lorenzo's was. He definately wasn't a happy camper at all. Rossi said his tires got better as the race went on. What do you think roger/brad?

Not my quote,'Bridgestone have made a tyre like Pirelli',the difference now is you get to see guys who can ride on a worn tyre,as there are no twins in the championship like WSB everyone is in the same boat, and we don't have the problem of guys having to kill e'mselves trying put heat into a cold tyre because if they don't they'll fall off at begining of a race.
