Part of the reasoning I had heard was because MotoGP may be going to a spec motor much like Moto2 and Moto3 do. Lots of riders unhappy about that potentially happening.

Obviously Stoner knows, how much is enough. If I had a choice between living in England or Oz, there would be no contest. I'd be stairing at the the Southern Cross every night.
MotoGP is starting to look like IROC. |

Stoner is very close to family, married very young and loves time on the family farm.
He will never wonder where his next million is coming from either. All the word down here is that this will be his next ride starting next season. ![]() |

The qoute on UK TV's commentary was, 'He'll get paid a couple of million bucks to drive that and still be home for tea!!
![]() As far as money is concerned,he's def not one of high earners when it comes to contracts in MotoGP. |

No question the man has proven to be a riding genius, if not an "alien". We need to understand that riding for him has been a job, not a passion. Maybe that's why he's such a whiner about everything, I don't know. He's figured out he's not getting younger and he can't get much better AND his passion is the outdoors. He can't go back to bikes, so I can see where cars near home make sense.
I bow hunt too and my son loves fishing, so I get it. I'm hoping he will write about how he does it. I'll miss Rossi much more (a character even if he isn't as good as it turned out), but I'm still a Rossi fan. However, I"m sure taking a shine to Colin Edwards (yeh, I'm late) and now Cal Crutchlow. I miss Simonchelli. Gonna have to start looking down the road.

In an interview with Darryl Beattie and another presenter, Stoner stated after all this time he feels if he goes one more season he may never ride a bike for a long time.
Darryl commented he never rode a bike for nearly 10 years after he left racing. So maybe he is at his use by date after such an effort to get to the top.

He did a great job, coming up through the ranks... he often pushed the bikes he rode way past their capabilities but his incredible talent finally got him on some good bikes... he made the Ducati look like a bike that can actually be ridden and he showed what he can do with a proper bike, on the factory Honda.
Everybody and anybody who still questions his riding abilities is either stupid, ignorant or delusional... or everything. While he may not be the highest paid rider in this circus, he made ample money and, with the support of his family and his wife, he made a decision that he can happily live with. I commend him, MotoGP has turned into a dud and it is very unlikely that this is going to change... he has the gumption to call it what it is at the press conference. Not bad... I am not sure Dorna will like that very much, but there is little they can do. Funny, that... Today's podium was an anomaly, albeit a welcome one... but chances are, it won't rain every race for the rest of the season. So, best to get used to the three names we have seen so far, making up the podium for the remainder of the season. If he has better options in his home land, he'd be crazy not to do it... more power to him!

Yeh KMoore, Rossi looked more his old form today (remember, I'm on the other side of the world). I wish he was the genius Stoner proved when he won with a Ducati. I have to wonder if the Panegali could suffer from poor front end feel, but then again my telelever does exactly talk to me either.
Later mate, :-)-

Those final three or so laps between Rossi and Stoner were probably the most exciting GP racing we've seen yet this year.
It really is sad how uneven the racing has become this year. Even in the rain the timing gaps among the top 10 were crazy out of whack. |

If Rossi will retire as he stated in about two years I would certainly make sure I do it on a competitive bike. Maybe go back to Yamaha since Spies is flat out history this year and the Panigalle is more of mid term project. Give the man a good bike and he will be champion once again.
