Shift lever felt bushings
The shift lever felt bushings on my bike are looking worn. I got a quote from Maxmotorcycles and they are about a buck each. However shipping is like 10Bucks for two pieces the size of a dime! I know I'm sounding like a cheapskate but 10 bucks for shipping is ridiculous. Anybody find a longer lasting alternative to felt?

Well, they are foam and not felt.
No local dealer? If not, then freight will always be a problem for you. Best to spread freight cost among more items, I'd say.

Same here, they don't really do much anyway. Don't think it will matter much in the long run.

Oh, and don't just order one or two of the felt bushings, for a dollar each buy twice what you need. You may hose one up on install...

They do keep out dirt, dust etc from the joints.
Mine are shot too. I can't find them on the 1200S parts fiche so I was gonna order based on the 1200GS part numbers. Anybody have a part number for the foam disk as specified for the 1200S ? |

Yes, replace them. They live in a dirty and turbulent area of the bike.
Be safe, Lane
