Newb (sort of) saying hello (again)

Howdy folks,

Newb here from upstate N.Y. Saying hello.

Just picked up a new to me '04 S.
It's a low mile showroom example. I just went past 13,600 miles today.

Accessories included, Sargent seat, Throttlemiester, City Bags, and a BMW cover and Tankbag. 12,000mile service done.

I had a '99 in black and was on here for a while. But for some reason I got it in my head I wanted a K bike. So I traded the S on a K12RS.

Very nice! Welcome back!
What happened to the K? How did you find it?

LostViking 06-12-2012 03:30 PM

The KRS served me well. I rode it for several years with no issues. Loved the cruise control. Electric smooth. Only issue was the horn button stuck on around 25,000 miles. Switch replaced under warranty.

wow, that one is very nice.

13K on a '04 S in cream puff condition. Nice find! Welcome back. Did you previously have a different handle?

Congratulations.

Yeah different name and different email. No recollection what it was either.

I was very impressed with the condition of this bike. I have seen new bikes on the showroom floor that didn't look this good. Apparently never ridden in the rain. I've put about a thousand miles on it so far. It's now been ridden in the rain.

Having been on the big trailie/adv bike bandwagon for some time. I am quite taken with the lighter, lower to the ground characteristics of the S. The fact that it's not butt ugly is refreshing as well. I personally always thought the R11S was one of the prettiest bikes on the road. I love the red. When I saw it, I had to really work on putting my lust aside while I looked over the mechanicals.

Piedmont Red and Pacific Blue are two of the most beautiful colors that BMW produces. They look very sporty on the 11S. Yours looks like it was sealed in a time capsule. Welcome back. Do you have a real name? There are posters here who might remember your handle that way.

My first name is Walt, I had a black '99 S. I was fairly new to computers in 1999. I'm still sort of a Luddite. I'm still Leary about putting my whole name out into cyberspace.
I wouldn't have had much in the way of info in my posts anyway. I was still running a film camera back then. And I was new to the S so I was asking more questions than I was answering.

Time capsule is a good analogy, it is awful clean,

I'm a very happy camper. I spent the first couple hundred miles wondering if I had bought a good looking timebomb, but that has slowly faded away. It seems to be as it was represented by the seller.
