Apparell For The Skinny Guy
So I'm about 150lbs and 6'1" and consequently nothing I've tried on, or currently wearing, fits properly.
Has anyone out there with a similar build found an "of the peg" jacket that fits? Having a jacket made is also a possibility. Teiz seem to make a good product at a price comparable with any other quality "peg" textile jacket. I haven't found anyone else making textile jackets, though plenty of bespoke racing leathers. I've tried eating and drinking more but to no avail, |

Spenser, try aerostitch. I use their riding suits and love them. They make one piece or two piece with armor. They are made here in the US. You can give them your dem. and they will make it. You can also chose from many colors. I think they go by Aerostitch Riders warehouse...I believe.

Have you tried the actual BMW aparel?
I've found their stuff to be very tight fitting. Slimmer than normal fat American sizes.

speaking as a non-skinny guy, agvsport makes textile jackets that i'll never squeeze in.
find out what size you are first. waist might not be as important as sleeve length, or visa versage (french version) this might help narrow your search: ![]() might also want to check with john lyon. he moonlights as a mannequin on weekends. (saw him at jc penneys one sunday, noon to 6pm shift) |

As another non-skinny guy, let me cast a vote for RevIt. Much of their stuff is cut for the more svelte European fellow, and their teeny little necks. Might work for a lean fella like you.

Thanks for the suggestions. Trouble is, plugging my self in to their sizing charts suggests they are not going to fit properly. Trying them on might prove other wise but how many jackets will I order and return? Probably all of them especially if I'm prepared to pay the price of a good suit.
Which brings us around to bespoke. Found this site Motoport Anyone care to comment on Motoport or Teiz, |

I can`t speak for those but they are most likely made in china and if custom will take some time. Aerostitch on the other hand is made in the US. They will custom make anything. 6'5" with a big butt and a big gut they can do it...5'2" wide shoulders little short legs...they can do it.. I had their one piece for a couple of years and sold it...I like the 2 piece better.,,,If I go into a museum or restaurant I don`t want to look like a NASA pilot.
The other good thing is they hold their value well if you decide to sell. The other good part is if it rains you keep going. I had a BMW suit and if it rained you had to stop and put in the liner..crazy....O yea forgot one of the best parts....the people there are great...including the owner andy goldfine...living in Duluth Minn. he rides to work most days. Spenser,
Understand. I am 6'2" 160. To get most gear to fit in length it is way tooo big every place else. I have tried but not yet purchased Olympia mesh pants that were good. Did just get a close out Scorpion mesh jacket (medium) for mototcyclegear (old New Enough) that is just a bit short in sleeves. +1 on Aerostitch. Not owned the gear since move to FL (to hot here) but it is really good stuff and fits right. H.D |

i know on a harley you sit like you're in a lazy boy recliner, and on some bmw's even upright, but those exposed zippers and buckles would shred the tank tupperware on my S.
....guess if i was skinny my gut wouldn't be up against the tank, but still.....i keep hearing that music from the movie jaws when i see all those exposed do-dads... |

I recently had the same issues when trying to get a new 2 piece suit after my old one got busted at my miserable track day..
I weigh 80 kilos with a full stomach and I'm about 1.68 metres in length (I think). Every kit I tried on was too short or too long or too wide if it wasnt too long, So I asked the guy who was helping me at the shop what the heck is wrong with their standard sizes and they quickly offered to tailor both the jacket and pants. So I bought the biggest size I could find and had them take my measurements and commence with chopping. I should get the leather back in about a week, hopefully it fits like a glove. On a side note, I would like to meet the freakish person they design these kits to fit, all of the pants are so long and the jackets are so short, the guy must look like a G.I Joe toy.

If you can/want to pay the $, the BMW gear comes in tall (and short) sizes in addition to the regular sizes.
And the gear is top notch (at least the stuff I have or have had). For example, a BMW Airflow mesh jacket compared to a Firstgear is like Dainese leathers to Joe Rocket. The quality, weight, materials, etc are like night and day. But you do have to pay for it...

Aerostich and BMW stuff works great for stick people (I'm 6'/155 lbs) as they generally offer longs in all their sizing. I've worn both brands (after trying others) for years and been very happy.
