I put the new one on as I don't trust my soldering skills and for $55 out the door a new one was just too easy to throw in there.
Since I am doing this today, I just wanted to correct the post to say the plug is in the LS relay box (from rider's POV). Switch is now $100!

Doing this on a new to me bike. Recently turned the key to off and bike didn't stop. I was thinking "oh oh?!? what the...", then saw the switch had dropped out the bottom of the ignition tube - plastic tang with hole that set screw sits in was broken off...

Jeff:
I had a hard time removing the ignition cable orange connector. Do you pinch the orange tabs together, or do you spread them before lifting?

Too late probably, but my recollection is that you just squeeze.

Tried to take a close look at the connector last time but my head wouldn't fit between the handle bar and the relay box - I'll give it another squeeze next time I have the fairing off.
Thanks.
