LED Brake Light
I went for a ride with my Son the other day. He told me that it was hard to tell if my brake light was on or not if he wasnt looking at it when I applied the brake. I had some red LED's left over from making a shift light for my race bike so decided to have a look at installing them as brake lights today.
I bent up some thin ally plate and drilled a couple of holes to hold the LED's and glued them in the tail light and wired them up so they came on with the brake light. Pretty happy with the results. Last one is a short video of it working. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dave |

Very nice. It looks like the second filament in the main bulb is not coming on? Is that because of the way you wired the LEDs?
No experience working with LEDs, but wouldn't mind doing something similar. Could you share how you wired these? |

The main bulb, also LED's is working, its just that the camera (phone) cant pick it up because of the light output from the LED's. I soldered the LED wires to the spade connections on the back of the main bulb connection then pushed on the original fittings over the top.
